What really happens during a Pro Stock motorcycle pass? 🏁
Our new blog article, “Inside Pro Stock Motorcycle Racing: The FIM European Championship Explained”, takes you behind the scenes of this demanding form of drag racing.
We explain how the FIM European Championship works across venues including Santa Pod Raceway, Tierp Arena and Hockenheimring, from scrutineering and technical inspection through qualifying, eliminations, the burnout, staging and the launch.
You’ll also get a closer look at the machinery: a naturally aspirated Vance & Hines 1855cc engine, chrome moly chassis, carbon fibre bodywork, six-speed gearbox and no parachute. These bikes can cover the quarter mile in approximately 7.05 seconds at 195 mph.
The article also explores why repeatable performance matters more than chasing a one-off number, and why billet CNC-machined parts are so important on a race bike. Our Pro Stock Suzuki billet clutch cover is machined from 6082 billet aluminium and gives the crew access for clutch switch set-up, allowing adjustments with a dial gauge between runs without removing the rear tyre.
As 2022 FIM Pro Stock Champions, we’re proud to share a practical insight into the racing, preparation and engineering behind the bike.
