Marine Welders / Fabricator:

Bill Mackie Engineering Ltd in Peterhead are looking for time served welders / fabricator who are experienced in MMA (Electrode Stick welding), MIG & TIG welding.

Jobs include:
Pipework manufacture, plating work, hull steel repairs, steel bulkhead repairs, tank & void space steel repair works, primarily for the marine fishing, ferries, tugs, workboats, windfarm & salmon sectors.

All fabrication / burning work also undertaken.

Also required to carry out general assistance repair work along with our engineers.

MMA coded experienced welder preffered but not essential as own company coding & welder procedures will be undertaken to class approval.

Driving license is essential & experience with operating Mobile Work Elevating Platforms is preffered.

Marine Engineer:

Bill Mackie Engineering Ltd in Peterhead are looking for time served & experienced Marine Engineers.

Jobs include: Main engine fault finding & repairs for Cummins, Volvo, Scania etc. Marine gearbox fault finding & repairs for Heimdal, Reintjes, Scana Volda, Twin Disc, Hundested Etc.

Good knowledge of marine pipework & bilge systems & pumps such as Desmi, Jabsco, Johnson, Azcue etc

Tailshaft / Rudder overhauls & experience for sealing arrangements such as deep sea seal types.

Engine / Gearbox removal & re-installation works & Alignment experience preferred. MCA / Lloyds repair work & valve overhauls.

Various other marine ancilliary repairs & all primarily for the marine industry & including ferry vessels, tug vessels & windfarm vessels.

Working to classification dry dock specifications & requirements.

Note: We will also consider experienced semi skilled with marine/fishing sector background & time served mechanical engineer.

Peacefully, with family by his side, at Peterhead Community Hospital on Friday 29th May 2026, Graham Robertson (Sid) aged 57 years. A much-loved and loving dad of Lisa, Sarah and Mickey, a dear father-in-law, a proud and devoted grandad of Jack and Emilie and a dear brother, uncle and a good friend to many. Very sadly missed. Funeral arrangements later.
