🌬️ Things to Remember About Your AC in the Winter

Your air conditioning system doesn’t take the winter off! If you use it for heating, here are a few important things to keep in mind:
1. Keep your filters clean
Dirty. filters restrict airflow and make your system work harder. Clean or replace them regularly for better performance and air quality.
2. Let the defrost cycle do its job
On very cold days, your outdoor unit may pause and blow cooler air indoors for a few minutes — this is the defrost cycle, which melts ice off the outdoor coil. It’s completely normal and helps your system run efficiently.
3. Keep the outdoor unit clear
Make sure there’s no snow, leaves, or debris around the unit. Good airflow helps the defrost cycle work properly.
4. Don’t constantly switch modes
Try not to change from heating to cooling too often in winter — it can cause unnecessary strain on the compressor.
5. Check your controls and settings
Make sure your remote or thermostat is working properly and the temperature is set comfortably (usually around 20–22°C for heating).
