The Massenza MI20 is already earning its keep!

Our new drilling rig was back in the Whatley yard briefly last week after returning from a dewatering project in Cambridgeshire.

There wasn’t much time to put its feet up, though. Its next job is a 110m water well for a golf course.

The MI20 gives us even greater capability across water well drilling and dewatering projects, and it’s already proving to be a valuable addition to the Whatley fleet.

We’ll share more from the golf course project next week.

Another borehole pump replacement completed this week, with our spider crane making light work of the heavy lifting.

The existing borehole pump had failed, so our team removed the broken unit along with the old 3-inch galvanised rising main.

We then installed a new Grundfos SP30 borehole pump, replacing the galvanised tube with a Boode UK rising main to provide a reliable, long-term solution.

Having the right equipment available means we can safely remove and install borehole pumps even where access and lifting requirements make the job more challenging.

From diagnosing pump failures through to removal, replacement and recommissioning, our engineers can take care of the complete job.

Our Jekko UK spider crane earning its keep on a recent job at this country property.

The existing borehole pump was lifted out so that it could be replaced, along with the old galvanised rising main, which was upgraded to PVC pipe from Boode Water Well Systems (UK ).

Working at properties like this often means dealing with restricted access and established gardens and landscaping. The compact footprint and lifting capability of the Jekko allows our engineers to carry out the work safely and efficiently, while keeping disruption to the surrounding property to a minimum.

A successful borehole is only part of the story. Getting water to where it's needed requires the right pumping equipment, installed correctly and built to perform for years to come.

Here, our team is installing a Grundfos SP60 borehole pump using our new Massenza MI20 drilling rig. The MI20 gives us the capability to safely handle larger pumps and equipment, making installations more efficient whilst maintaining the high standards our engineers expect on site.

Our Vermeer RTX1250 trencher/plough has been busy installing new underground water pipework, providing reliable connections for farms, estates and commercial sites. By ploughing pipework directly into the ground, we can install long runs efficiently while keeping surface disruption to a minimum.

This 60-metre-deep borehole required the installation of a new Grundfos pump together with a new Boode UK rising main, all safely lifted and installed using our Unimog-mounted crane.

One of our engineers snapped this on a recent trip across the River Orwell near Ipswich, with the Whatley van parked beneath the impressive Orwell Bridge.

Our teams spend thousands of miles each year travelling to farms, estates, businesses and homes across the UK, helping clients with boreholes, pumping systems, water treatment and pipeline installations.
