We were given the task of making Emmanuel Church more accessible by raising the aisle levels, extending the Dias area, and installing new ramps. We’re proud to say the team has done a fantastic job completing this project.
The job involved a wide range of tasks, each with it’s own challenges. We began by raising each aisle level so that the new carpet could sit flush with the existing pews. With this in place, we were able to install accessible ramps at the start of each aisle.
To make space for the extended stage, we removed the first three front pews on each side and reinstated the upright end pews to maintain continuity and structure.
The most significant part of the project was extending the Dias area. This included installing an underfloor heating system, integrating the new sound system, laying 20mm oak flooring on the Dias, and fitting carpet throughout the rest of the church.
It was a privilege to be part of this project at Emmanuel Church—helping to upgrade and modernise the space so it is now more practical and accessible for many years to come.
