We may be biased, but believe we can learn a lot from snails🐌

Here we see the "just pick yourself up, and carry on like nothing happened" mindset that we all know so well 😳

This week it was reported that sea surface temperatures around the UK are unseasonably warm - by up to 4 degrees.

To explore the implications of this the media, including BBC R4, reached out to our friend and colleague Manuela Truebano - who is doing amazing research on what marine heatwaves mean to animals on our shores.

She did in an impressive job of explaining why we should care about this topic in the few minutes she had. Fast forward to 26 minutes to hear what she has to say - well worth a listen πŸ™‚

Phenomyx had a great time at the LifeInAI event last week at Devonport Market Hall in Plymouth. Lots of networking and discussions of what the future applications of AI might look like.

With audiences ranging from children to researchers it was a varied event. The team did an excellent job of communicating what Phenomyx and the EmbryoPhenomics Team are all about.

Live displays of innovations including the Pebble Cam and the LabEmbryoCam - with snails and barnacles generated lots of interest and curiosity πŸ˜€.

It was also the first event we had ever attended with a robot dog running up and down the stairs and doing hand stands - this being part of the amazing work Jake Shaw-Sutton does at the university and via his company Robotriks.

Amazing to see Ivybridge Brewing Company, run by the hugely talented Simon Rundle - a director of our company - Phenomyx, being featured on ITV West Country News. Check it out.

The brewery produces, in our opinion, the best beer around while providing training and work opportunities to people with learning disabilities and autism. Get down there and check them out if you have not done already πŸ™‚

We were thrilled to be on ITV Westcountry News yesterday, talking about our brewery and taproom and our m https://www.itv.com/watch/news/the-award-winning-devon-brewery-thats-changing-lives/f24kyrq ission to provide work and training opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autism.

You can watch the full video on ITVX via Linktree and listen to what Simon and some of our other trainees have to say.

A new paper from EmbryoPhenomics describing an invention that has been many years in the making - the LabEmbryoCam.

A huge team effort and a technology that is now fundamental to not just our own research, but that being done by some amazing research groups outside of Plymouth.

We love it when a plan comes together πŸ˜€
