The temporary roof scaffold at Plymouth Gin Distillery is almost complete.

Lewis and the team have done an outstanding job bringing this challenging project over the line, and it’s been great to see the structure really take shape over the past few weeks.

Next stage is getting the sheets pulled over and the roof fully encapsulated ready for the works to continue below.

Hello everyone,

Most of you know I entered the London Marathon last year. I never thought I’d actually get a place, so to be accepted was a massive moment for me.

Since then, I’ve been putting in the miles and preparing for this 26 mile challenge. I won’t lie… it’s going to hurt. But it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m determined to see it through.

I’m reaching out now as I’d really appreciate your support with sponsorship. I’ve already hit my target, which I’m incredibly grateful for, but every extra bit makes a difference.

I’m running for the Royal British Legion, a cause close to me as an ex-serviceman. I’ve seen first-hand the support they provide to the forces community and their families.

Plymouth Gin – Temporary Roof Scaffold

We’re currently well underway with a temporary roof scaffold over the Still House at Plymouth Gin, working alongside AD Williams and Le Page Architects.

This one has definitely been a bit of a brain teaser but that’s exactly the kind of challenge we thrive on.

Huge credit to our scaffolders, Lewis and Sam, who have grabbed this project head on and are doing a top job delivering a complex and technical build.

The scheme includes:
Temporary roof scaffold spanning across multiple elevations
Access built up from the lane and carried across adjoining roof structures
1.3m beams installed across three sides to achieve the required spans
Load-bearing sections designed to take increased weight in key areas
Internal birdcage / dead shore scaffold supporting the existing roof structure during works

It’s a pleasure to be involved in a project of this scale and complexity and one that’s shaping up to look the part as well.

Once complete, this will provide a fully protected working environment for the contractors to carry out the next phase safely and efficiently.

Job Opportunity – Part-Time Yardman

Due to continued business demands, we are currently looking for a part-time yardman to join the team.

The role will involve carrying out general yard duties, including loading and unloading lorries, maintaining equipment, and keeping the yard clean, organised, and safe.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring company vehicles and reporting any maintenance requirements.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential. A proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team are key.

Rates will depend on experience.
