Fox re-pointing and building maintenance

This job had been repointed in a cement mortar that failed due to wall tie failure. New wall ties installed and the old one isolated to prevent future damage and repointed using a lime mortar to match the original. Customer is delighted with the final finish and it has certainly brought this house back to life.

Lime repointing season is well and truly underway. It may be slightly more expensive to repoint in lime but if you have an old lime mortar building then it’s a must as using cement will be more costly In the long run.

Before and after of the last lime job of the season with over a 100 bricks replaced. Now just a few day left before a well deserved break for me and my team.

Today’s job is removing wet cavity wall insulation from a detached house. A property that should never have been insulated as it’s unsuitable for it. Also wall tie replacement to the rear elevation

This mornings job was to replace the Spalling bricks and rebuild this corner section.

This job entailed removing all the old cavity wall insulation which had been badly installed. Some wall tie replacement and a full repoint in a lime mortar on all elevations. Just a bit of paining left to do once the weather improves for a day or so.
