Already got solar but want to maximise your savings? Here’s an example of a perfect upgrade we completed this week.
We relocated the equipment from the loft to the garage, significantly reducing fire risk and improving accessibility. We also replaced the existing string inverter with a hybrid inverter and installed a 10kW battery system featuring built-in fire suppression and heated cells.
Now, instead of exporting excess solar energy back to the grid while the client is at work, the system stores it for use during the evening when energy demand is highest.
On top of that, the client benefits from a low overnight import tariff between 12:30am–5:30am, allowing the battery to charge at less than a third of standard daytime rates.
Even during the winter months, when solar generation is lower, the client is still paying less than 9p per kWh for their electricity.
