🎾 Join the Pro Steel Padel Cup and help support Alzheimer's Society
We're inviting businesses, friends and supporters of Pro Steel to join us on Friday 18 September at the Welsh Padel Centre in Cwmbran for an afternoon of padel, networking and
fundraising.
We're supporting Alzheimer's Society, a charity that is particularly close to our hearts as
dementia has affected several members of the Pro Steel team and their families.

Another successful move completed this week, helping keep a Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 project moving forward.

We escorted for a Link Bridge unit as it was transported from the workshop to the painting subcontractors, where it will receive its finishing touches before heading on to Heathrow for cladding preassembly and installation. These movements take plenty of planning and coordination to ensure everything runs safely and smoothly from start to finish.

A great effort from everyone involved in getting the unit to its next stage, and we're proud to have played a part in the journey. Looking forward to seeing the finished bridge unit in place at Heathrow.

A Friday sunrise is a reminder that every day begins with a fresh chance to grow, reset, and move forward. Before the emails, meetings, and to-do lists, there was this moment of peace and tranquility for two members of our team today as they walked to the front face of the Blorenge to witness this beautiful sunrise.

Last week InnDex visited our Bristol airport site project. They were shown how their software is used daily throughout different areas of the site. Pro Steel Engineering Ltd uses the Inndex system as a central platform to manage and demonstrate Health & Safety compliance across our operations.

They were shown around site by site manager Ryan Marriott and even got the chance to walk safely on the roof of Bristol airport to observe the progress of construction works.

We had another productive week on site where there were various installations of steelwork, we carried out surveying works and we were carrying out the required painting works on site.

Jake Turberville is our senior project manager who oversees all projects within the business. Recently he was working on our Brabazon project.

-What went well within the project?
Following a pre-assembly period at BAM UK’s site, the team successfully installed the staircase units & bridge deck within the allocated 24-hour possession period. This was made even better with the team having the bridge fully installed within 16 hours of the first lift. Pre-assembly meant that we have avoided majority of the works at height post install for cladding & rainwater goods, avoid future requirements for additional possessions. From design, fabrication, coatings & install, the project was a success, meeting both timeline and quality expectations.


-What was a challenge within the project?
Challenges of the project included transporting units to site under police escorts, proximity to the railway & restricted installation period, all of which were overcome by the PSE team.

-What did you enjoy about working on the project?
It was great to see PSE involved in the wider YTL development whilst delivering this scheme for BAM UK / Network Rail. The scheme is progressing well and will benefit the local area, I take great pride that PSE have been a part of providing key transport links to the new arena, exciting times ahead for the development, we look forward to seeing the project complete.

-What advice would you give to someone looking into joining the steel industry?
If I were giving advice to someone looking to get into the structural steel industry, I would say that gaining a strong understanding of the fundamentals is key. Be willing to learn from experienced people, ask questions, and take every opportunity to develop your technical knowledge. Attention to detail, a good work ethic, and a proactive attitude will take you a long way the industry. The varied projects that PSE are completing within the structural steel industry is really exciting to me and it would be great to see others within similar industries take the step into structural steel. With the technology PSE are implementing with modern methods of construction, it really does create a huge opportunity for career growth & opportunity within the sector.

We’d like to take a moment to wish our fantastic trainee welder/fabricator, Meg, all the very best as she prepares to welcome her second baby!

She’ll be truly missed while she’s away, but we couldn’t be happier for her as she starts this exciting new chapter with her growing family.

Wishing you all the happiness, health, and plenty of special moments ahead, Meg. Enjoy every second of this precious time — we can’t wait to hear all about your newest little arrival!
