Run by and for people affected by cancer, this vital charity offers free health and wellness workshops, 1-to-1 care and support groups across North Tyneside.

Winning £15k will allow them to cross the finish line on renovating their Nile Street hub - improving the upstairs kitchenette and developing a restored garden retreat. It's all about creating a comforting safe haven where local families can connect, heal and thrive.

Following a major building renovation, Pennine Mencap is officially shortlisted. Winning this grant will allow them to put the finishing touches on their hub, creating a blossom-filled sensory sanctuary and an interactive food-growing garden for local neurodiverse adults and those with learning disabilities🪴

Shapinsay Development Trust is officially a finalist in the Community Bloom Fund. Located on a remote island, where access to community facilities can be more limited, this project will transform the historic, disused Gas House site into a vibrant multi-generational outdoor hub.

Inspired by requests from local schoolchildren, the site will feature a community garden, seal-watching spot and picnic area - combatting island isolation, boosting biodiversity and strengthening local food resilience.

It only takes a moment to bring the bloom home to Shapinsay!

Four incredible community projects are competing for the chance to receive a share of £30,000 in funding to help bring their plans to life:

🌸 Shapinsay Development Trust (Orkney) – turning a historic site into a vibrant outdoor hub complete with a community garden and picnic area.

🌿 Sunart Community Company (Strontian) – installing an all-weather canopy to support community events and activities throughout the year.

💛 Live Well with Cancer (North Shields) – creating a more accessible and welcoming support hub for people affected by cancer.

🪴 Pennine Mencap (Oldham) – transforming outdoor space into a sensory garden and food-growing area for neurodiverse adults and people with learning disabilities.
