Another good week for Broad Construction 👷‍♂️🏠

All the plastering is now complete on our big project, ready for the kitchen to be fitted and herringbone flooring to run throughout the new extension 👌

We also squeezed in a small patio for a new client, completed in just 2 days — dug out, prepped, laid and pointed, with fresh turf along the front to tie it all back into the garden 🌱

Another productive week and plenty more to come 🔨

Another big step forward on our current project 🧱🔨

A lot of work gone into this stage — structural steels installed, roof fully formed and insulated, new rooflight fitted and the flat roof now finished and watertight. Internally we’ve also opened up the existing space ready to create a much larger open-plan area.

Plenty more to come on this one as we keep pushing it forward 👌

♿ Recent Accessible Home Extension & Renovation 🏠

A recent project completed to make this home much more accessible and practical for our customer.

We built a new extension to accommodate a purpose built disability wet room, including a wheelchair accessible wash basin with clear space underneath, a walk-in shower area and plenty of room to manoeuvre comfortably.

We also carried out alterations throughout the ground floor, including:

🔨 Removing an internal wall to create a much larger open plan kitchen
🍽️ Installing a new kitchen including a height adjustable rise-and-fall sink/worktop
🚪 Widening the downstairs doorways to provide easier wheelchair access throughout
🚿 Creating the new accessible wet room within the extension
🏠 Completing all associated building, plumbing, electrical and finishing works

A relatively small extension that’s made a massive difference to how the customer can use and enjoy their home day to day.

Solid first week on our latest project in Drayton! 💪🏗️

A great start to another exciting job for the Broad Construction team.

This week we’ve:
✅ Completed full site setup
✅ Safely demolished and removed the existing conservatory
✅ Excavated foundations to a massive 1.8 metres deep due to a mature maple tree sitting just 1 metre from the proposed extension
✅ Poured concrete footings
✅ Built the extension up to just below door height, ready for the next stage

Once the single-storey extension is complete, we’ll be moving straight on to a hip-to-gable loft conversion, transforming the existing roof space into a fantastic new living area.

Looking forward to sharing the progress over the coming weeks—it’s going to be a big transformation! 👷‍♂️🏡

After the plumbers installed a new water feed, we stepped in to bring the whole space back to life 🔧➡️✨

We carried out full preparation works before installing a stunning porcelain patio, along with rendering the rear of the house and finishing the steps to give it a clean, modern look.

The result is a fresh, low-maintenance outdoor space, perfect and ready for summer ☀️
