That cold spot was causing condensation and localised damp, so we sealed it properly and repointed the surrounding area where the mortar had cracked 🔧

Next Stage – Ready for Finishing 🏁

Progress continues on this rising damp job in the dining room 💪

With the DPC injection complete, we’ve now moved onto the next phase — installing the membrane system and re-plastering. This will create a clean, dry barrier to protect the walls and ensure the damp issue doesn’t return.

Once finished, the space will be fully prepped and ready for the client to redecorate.

Before – Rising Damp Issue 🚧

This dining room was suffering from rising damp due to a high water table — causing moisture to travel up through the walls and damage the internal finish.

We’ve now hacked off the affected plaster to remove all contaminated material and carried out a DPC injection to stop moisture rising any further.

Next stage: membrane system and re-plastering to fully restore the space, ready for the client to redecorate.

About Us:

D&H Carpentry and Construction Ltd is a fast-growing company working on refurbishments, damp proofing, and insurance repairs. We’re known for delivering high-quality workmanship and professional service across residential and commercial projects.

The Role:

We are looking for a self-employed Damp Proofer / Multi-Trade Operative to join our trusted subcontractor team. The work will include:

Damp proofing and property repairs.

Plastering to a high standard (essential).

General multi-trade works (carpentry, tiling, decorating, basic plumbing, etc.).

Working on insurance reinstatement, refurbishments, and domestic projects.

Maintaining site safety, quality, and cleanliness at all times.

Requirements:

Plastering skills essential.

Multi-trade abilities.

Damp proofing experience is ideal, but full training will be provided.

Own tools, transport, and UTR number.

Full UK driving licence.

Ability to work independently and liaise with clients/site managers professionally.

What We Offer:

Competitive rates of pay (self-employed).

Consistent pipeline of work across Hampshire, Surrey, west Sussex, (60 mile radius of Portsmouth)
