To further strengthen our ongoing Social Value commitments, Warden’s Social Value Team’s engagement with Bideford Community Centre identified the local community food bank needs. Successfully delivering specific donations meant over 100+ children’s lunch packs were provided for distribution throughout the school’s summer break period, supporting families and communities in and around the and area.

Warden is due to complete a second project in 12 months within the Baguley area, coupled with our ongoing delivery programme at Manchester Airport we continue to invest in the communities in which we work for our clients including Manchester City Council, Manchester Airport, The University of Manchester, and Manchester Metropolitan University.

This is one of many social value activities that we are undertaking in the local area to provide positive outcomes for the local community.

Bideford Community Centre are a volunteer-led community centre in Baguley working in partnership with Wythenshawe Community Housing Group and Manchester City Council. They are a local food bank and clothing bank that also provides a community café and social events. They are making a real difference to the community of Wythenshawe. Increased wellbeing through better work environments delivered through a partnership and collaborative approach with our client ILIV & Jason Kenworthy, end users, designers, and contractors. Warden successfully supported another Construction Traineeship programme, in partnership with Skills Construction Centre providing ten young construction trainees 3 weeks' valuable work experience.

The traineeship provides hands-on construction experience, learning about various construction trades including groundworks and site clearance work to assist them in developing their skills, knowledge and behaviours for successfully preparing to enter the construction industry as a career.

We would like to recognise Joe Carey as the Outstanding Student on this year’s programme demonstrating his positive attitude, attendance, time management and determination.

As part of our social value delivery, we wanted to give back to the local community of to provide positive outcomes. We donated food items to Runcorn and District Foodbank which is a local foodbank for our High Street project for our client, Halton Borough Council. We are currently involved in repurposing the listed building as an artist space, as part of the wider ‘Reconnecting Runcorn’ ambition to establish a Creative and Digital Skills Centre. The new skills facility will create collaborative learning spaces to broaden the local skills and education agenda.

Runcorn and District Foodbank is part of a national network of foodbanks across the UK run by The Trussell Trust.

Project Win: We are pleased to announce that we have been appointed by Manchester Metropolitan University to deliver the New Security Lodge at Birley Campus procured via the Procure Partnerships Framework. Due to an expanding role of the Campus Security, the team need a new facility to fulfil this role. Working closely with AHR Architects, Hulley and Kirkwood and Gardiner & Theobald.

Project Commencement: Warden are currently undertaking refurbishment work for Manchester Metropolitan University at All Saints Library. This 6-week scheme consists of Library Data & Small Power Upgrades. Working in collaboration with Appleyard & Trew. This project was procured under the Procure Partnerships Framework.

Project Completion: We are delighted to complete works at Arrowe Park Hospital for Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We have just completed works to the Bowman's Restaurant & Staff Changing Rooms. This project has created more space and improved facilities for the staff and patients. Thanks to DAY Architectural Ltd, Nationwide CDM, Banyards, MDA Wirral Limited, Modero Limited and CCS Consulting Limited. This project was procured via the Procure Partnerships Framework.

Project Commencement: Warden has commenced refurbishment work for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (Official) at Hyndburn Fire Station. This 8-week project consists of dormitory remodelling working in a live fire station environment. Working in collaboration with Equilibrium Architects Ltd, Poole Dick and NOVO Integration Ltd. This project was procured under the Manchester City Council Small Works Framework.

We are looking forward to the 21st July to find out the winners!

Project Handover: We are proud to handover the first replacement drill tower at Fire Station. We are currently replacing drill towers across various fire stations across for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (Official). Working in collaboration with LFRS, Bradshaw Gass & Hope LLP, IKG Consulting Ltd & Equilibrium Architects Ltd under the Manchester City Council Framework.
