What a difference a day makes - I sent an urgent request to WBC to fix the dangerous railings on the junction of th A56 and the Runcorn Road in Walton and the next day safety barriers erected indicating a repair will be soon. Well done Warrington Borough Council - looking forward to seeing the job completed quickly.☺️

🇺🇦 Four Years of Resistance. Four Years of Courage. 🇺🇦

Today marks four years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

For four years, the Ukrainian people have shown extraordinary bravery in the face of aggression — defending their democracy, their freedom, and their right to choose their own future.

Here in Warrington, we stand in solidarity with our local Ukrainian community — our neighbours, friends and colleagues — many of whom have been directly affected by this war, with family and loved ones still living through its consequences.

We remember those who have lost their lives, those forced from their homes, and those who continue to live under the shadow of war. The Liberal Democrats remain clear: the UK must continue to support Ukraine — militarily, economically and diplomatically — for as long as it takes. Any lasting peace must be just, and it must be decided by Ukraine.

💙💛 Slava Ukraini.

Walton Parish Council Parish Council held another fabulous Christmas Light Switch on on Saturday - well done to all involved in organising it.
Father Christmas came on his sleigh and chatted to all the children. The fabulous choir from St John's church did us proud and sang beautifully. We had face painting and a balloon sculpturer to entertain the children.
Free mince pies, burgers and chips (Truly Scrumptious)
It was a truly community event for our residents - everything free and paid for by Walton Parish Council (using money donated by Cream) - giving back to the community!
It was a joy to see so many happy faces and now it feels that Christmas has begun 🌲🌲

Yesterday I did a walk around Walton Village to see what the impact of Creamfields was this year.
My first impressions are that the traffic coming from Warrington town was much lighter than in previous years and the traffic management was excellent.

It was a joy to see so many people dressed in their best festival gear walking to the event. There were some shenanigans with very young folk (aged roughly 12/14 not local accents) running in fields behind houses but the security staff dealt with them well. The security barriers for houses and generally seem to be much better this year as well.

I bumped into some residents walking along to enjoy the event and had a lovely chat with them. Noise levels on the whole seem to have been fine here in Walton so far at least. Police and security presence seemed to have been better than in previous years.

Of course, there will be a Walton Parish Council debrief meeting in November (date to be confirmed) to hear residents' experiences and feed back constructively to Cream.
My dog Bertie, the Beagle, was less impressed by the crowds though they loved him ... but then that's Bertie for you ...😅

I'll be doing another walk round tomorrow so let me know if there's anywhere you think I need to check.
Enjoy the rest of the festival folks.

Oops! A few leaflets have strayed… 📬 Just to clear up any confusion, there was no election in Appleton today.

A few of our Stockton Heath West by-election leaflets were accidentally delivered a little beyond the intended patch. Sorry if one landed on your doormat by mistake - that was our error.

And if you ever fancy a bit of fresh air and want to help out locally, we always welcome an extra pair of hands to deliver Appleton Focus now and then - just drop us a message! 😊

Our thanks to Sarah Hall MP for attending the Creamfields residents’ meeting organised by Walton Parish Council. Disappointingly, there was nobody in attendance from the festival organisers or the licensing authority Halton Borough Council.
