It is really easy for unscrupulous companies to sell you something that you don't need. And the problem still exists, they have just hidden it temporarily.

We identify the root cause of the problem & fix that.

The UPVC down-pipe is fitted into a cast-iron down-pipe, which in turn is buried in the ground. There is no sealed joint between the two types of down-pipe & as a result, the rainwater is clearly splashing out of the joint & against the property wall, saturating it. With no damp-proof course within the wall structure, this is leading to rising dampness & lateral dampness within that area of the property.
These cast-iron pipes usually run underground out to the pavement, or out onto the road, unseen through the small Victorian front gardens, or they discharged into a soak-away drain in the ground. Both the cast-iron soil pipe & the soak-away drain can become blocked over time, or the cast-iron pipe rusts through. Either way, these can be very problematic & need regular maintenance.
