🌊 Our Annual Beach Litter Pick – Year 4! 🧤

For the fourth year running, the ASH Construction team came together for our annual beach litter pick, giving back to the community and helping protect the coastline we all enjoy.

Looking after our local environment is something we’re proud to support each year. It’s about more than collecting litter it’s about making a positive impact, protecting local wildlife, and encouraging everyone to take pride in our shared spaces.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort.

Together, we collected bags of litter and left the beach cleaner than we found it. We’re incredibly proud to continue this tradition and look forward to doing it all again next year. Here’s to four years of making a difference and many more to come! 💚🌍

Another successful milestone delivered by our team.

The platform has been removed, realigned, and reinstated, ready for the upcoming track renewal works. All works have now been completed, with our team returning in a few weeks to install the final stick-on tactile paving and complete the project.

Great work from everyone involved in delivering this scheme safely and efficiently.

Wellbeing Week at ASH Construction Group

To kick off Wellbeing Week, a few members of our team enjoyed a lunchtime walk followed by a coffee and catch-up at Costa.

Delivering critical rail infrastructure with precision, safety, and teamwork. 👏

Our team successfully completed the Docklands Light Railway North Route works, delivering the full rail installation and welding programme while overcoming tight timescales, complex logistics, and strict noise management requirements.

From breather switch installations and stressing works to ultrasonic testing, inspections, and site handback, every element was completed to the highest standard, with all safety inspections passed and the works accepted following the final amber trolley run.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their commitment, professionalism, and dedication to delivering another successful project. 🚧

Another successful possession completed. 🚧

The project involved removal of the existing timber RRAP system, replacement of an 18m Bullhead panel with EG 47 sleepers with CEN56 Rail, fitting of the new two track Strail RRAP system and concrete apron, alongside construction of a heavy duty new trough route for HV cables.

And installation of 1.8m steel road plates for the protection of existing cables route.

Well done to the Ash Construction Group civils team for delivering another high-quality project safely and on programme.

Another successful possession delivered by the ASH Construction Group Civils team, bringing the Crowborough Tunnel Drainage Renewal project to a successful close in partnership with SRE.

This scheme was designed to address long-standing drainage issues at the country end of the tunnel, improving water management and enhancing the long-term resilience of the railway infrastructure.

Over a series of 27-hour, 52-hour and final 72-hour possessions, the team completed:

🔹 250m of Down Cess drainage excavated to 1.8m depth, including 100m through a challenging 700mm-thick mudstone layer

🔹 200m of Up Cess drainage excavated to 1.5m depth

🔹 50m of 6ft drainage installed, including 3 catchpits

🔹 50m of Up Cess concrete channel drain installed

🔹 Reprofiled crest drain with a precast headwall and 20m of HDPE trench lining bedded on C10 Gen 1 concrete

🔹 2 x 7.2m UTX crossings installed using ductile iron pipes due to reduced depth, encased in C30 concrete

Despite challenging ground conditions and high temperatures, the works were delivered safely, with zero incidents, zero operational issues, and a high-quality finish.
Projects like this demonstrate the value of careful planning, strong collaboration and dedicated delivery teams working together to improve the railway for the future.

A huge thank you to SRE, Readypower, and everyone involved in planning and delivering these works.

Completing the final phase of a project and seeing the positive impact of the finished scheme is always something to be proud of.
