🚧 Low Ground Pressure in Action 🚧

Over the past week, our tracked suction excavator has been undertaking multiple trial holes for one of our clients.

Operating in very soft ground conditions and uneven terrain, the machine’s low ground pressure tracked configuration provided excellent stability and load distribution, significantly reducing ground bearing pressure and the risk of surface failure or rutting. This enabled safe access across the site while minimising ground disturbance and reducing the need for remedial reinstatement works.

Despite the site being heavily overgrown and appearing largely untouched, numerous underground services were successfully exposed and safely identified. The use of suction excavation allowed precise, non-destructive excavation, making it particularly effective in sensitive ground conditions and congested service environments.

Specialist Solutions - TrackedVac

Recently, we invested in a cutting-edge MTS Tracked Suction Excavator, enhancing our capabilities with this highly versatile machine.

With our customers utilising suction excavator systems more and more, we made the decision to add this solution to our already highly diverse fleet.

Our first project for our new unit perfectly showcased its strengths. With nearly 900 meters of waterlogged arable land to traverse, the 20-ton excavator, outfitted with low-ground-pressure tracks, crossed the challenging terrain with ease.
In contrast, a truck-mounted unit reaching this location would have been nearly impossible without laying down substantial track matting along the entire route.

Upon reaching the excavation site, the unit with its powerful 500-horsepower engine and twin fans made light work of excavating down to the damaged service.

All and all a great job planned and executed from the whole team!
