Wi******er – M3 J9 Improvements

Great to see strong progress being made on the Wi******er junction upgrade, with the team delivering some excellent work on site.

As part of this phase, approximately 4,000m³ of predominantly chalk material has been carefully excavated to facilitate the installation of precast culverts. This is a key milestone in advancing the scheme and ensuring the long-term resilience of the infrastructure.

A big credit to everyone involved for maintaining momentum while upholding high standards of safety, quality, and teamwork throughout.

Looking forward to seeing the next stages take shape.

Avonmouth WTW – Primary Settlement Tanks Update

We’re pleased to share the latest progress from our Avonmouth Water Treatment Works project, where significant advancements are being made on the Primary Settlement Tank structures.

Each tank, with a 41.6m radius and 3.5m high walls, represents a key component in the expansion of the facility and will play a vital role in supporting future operational capacity.

Through the use of innovative travelling formwork fabricated by , our team successfully constructed the main stem wall, launder channel and launder channel wall simultaneously. This approach has delivered excellent tolerances and high-quality finishes across all structures.

With all four bases installed to an exceptional standard, two tanks completed, and the remaining two now well underway, our project team continues to demonstrate outstanding dedication and technical expertise.

Well done to everyone involved in driving this project forward.

🚧 Culworth Grounds – RC Structures

We’re proud to share some fantastic progress from our team on the Culworth Grounds project, where we’re delivering a series of complex reinforced concrete structures to the highest standards.

This achievement is made possible by the dedication of our site teams and the seamless support from our in-house plant department. With the addition of our new Kobelco Cranes Europe Limited CKE900 crane, we’re meeting all lifting requirements efficiently and helping the project continue at an impressive pace.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their hard work and commitment – your efforts are driving the continued success of this project.

🚧 School Hill Overbridge – A Greener Way Forward 🌿

Exciting progress at the School Hill Overbridge project, where we’re delivering a two-span structure that not only supports vital infrastructure but also supports local wildlife. 🦡🦌

The new green bridge will carry a single carriageway over the HS2 main line and the relocated MCJ3 line, with a dedicated corridor providing safe wildlife passage — a thoughtful integration of engineering and ecology.

Key stats:
🔹 52m span, 40m width
🔹 6000m³ of concrete, 1000T of reinforcement
🔹 Prestressed concrete beam deck with reinforced abutments and foundations

Piling works were completed in summer 2024, with pile caps wrapped up by October. Beam installation is scheduled for May/June, and full FRC completion is expected by late 2025.

Great to see sustainable design in action!

West Street Over Bridge - Precast Installation

Over the last couple of weeks our teams at the West Street Over Bridge project have been planning, organising and executing the installation of ten x fifty tonne concrete precast bridge beams.

Due to the limited working room and site constraints, the best solution for lifting these colossal beams was from the east abutment of the structure meaning a maximum lifting radius of just over 68 meters!

After completing the site preparations, our project team brought in Weldex's Liebherr LR1600, configured with 150t of main ballast and an additional 250t of super lift ballast.
Throughout the week, our own Liebherr LTR1100 supported the operations, ensuring a smooth installation with all lifting tasks executed as planned.

Many thanks to our teams who worked hard collaborating with KTL and EKFB to orchestrate this fantastic achievement, ahead of time and to the highest standards.

Saltford Water Treatment Works - Activated Sludge Process Tank

Excellent work from our team on the Saltford WTW last week.

With over 250t of rebar installed on the ASP tank base and taking advantage of the good weather, the works progressed and 360m3 of concrete was poured and power floated.

Other sections of the project continued to run simultaneously such as the Return Activated Sludge & Surplus Activated Sludge pumping station to maintain the program and enable the continuity for all trades on site.

Alderney WTW - Granular Activated Carbon Tank

Over the last few weeks our teams have been exceptionally busy at our Alderney Water Treatment Works project turning out some fantastic work.

Following on from the completion of the base slabs, sumps and plinths the installation of the 148 precast units that make up the Granular Activated Carbon Tank commenced.

Given the challenging cranage requirements, utilising our new LTR1100 with its compact dimensions, efficient rigging and superior lifting capacity has made light work of offloading and installing the precast units weighing between 5t to 17t.

Fantastic work from the whole project team ensuring all key dates are met with a focus on health and safety whilst delivering a fantastic finished product.

Buckinghamshire Bridges & RC Structures - Addison road over-bridge (3/3)

Currently our steelfixing teams are well underway to fixing in excess of 280t of rebar on this project with the bridge deck near completion.

All of these works were carried out using our in-house Liebherr Group LTM1055 mobile crane, Magni Telescopic Handlers - Official 7.26 rotational telehandler and various concrete pumps and MEWPS we operate within our fleet.

The quality of work being produced is a credit to the remarkable workforce on the project that has worked collaboratively with our project partners to ensure the safety and quality are constantly at the forefront of everything we do.
