Unvented cylinder fix – Gledhill Platinum (tundish constantly running) 💧
Customer reported continuous discharge through the tundish. After checks and following the correct Gledhill service procedure (including confirming the air gap/expansion arrangement), the issue was traced back to the cold water inlet control set (multibloc) being incorrectly rated / wrongly installed previously.

✅ Drained down the unvented system safely
✅ Removed the incorrect multibloc
✅ Fabricated new 22mm copper pipework (bend + solder) to replace the leaking section
✅ Installed a correctly rated multibloc to manufacturer specification
✅ Recommissioned and tested

Result: No leaks, stable operation, and tundish left dry.

If your tundish is dripping or running constantly, don’t ignore it — it’s a sign the system needs diagnosing properly.

🚨 Hidden heating leak found
See that white/green build-up? That’s not “insulation” — it’s limescale + corrosion from a valve that’s been slowly leaking for a long time.

Left untreated it can lead to:
✅ water damage
✅ air & sludge in the system
✅ pump/valve/boiler issues
✅ higher heating bills

🚰 Leak suspected… turned out NOT to be in the property.
A customer received a letter from Thames Water after a sudden increase in water usage. We carried out a thorough check of the property and used acoustic listening equipment to trace the leak.

📍 Findings: the strongest leak noise and meter activity were behind the street meter / under the footpath, not within the home’s pipework.
The customer can now request Thames Water investigate as it appears to be on the external supply side, rather than a private leak.

If your usage jumps or you get a leak warning letter, we can help you confirm whether it’s inside the property or needs the water company involved.
