Our very own Carl Reeders was thrilled to attend the RHS Sandringham Flower Show on Friday 24th.

For this all-new event, the hard work and organisation of the RHS team, along with the talent of those who created and showcased their gardens, were evident throughout.

We would like to give a special mention to the RHS Royal Legacy Garden, created by garden designer Catherine MacDonald of Landform Consultants Ltd, in collaboration with His Majesty the King. The garden celebrated His Majesty’s lifelong passion for horticulture, nature, and the rural landscape.

Built by Gadd Brothers Trees & Landscapes, the garden provided a beautiful place to pause and reconnect with nature.

The importance of tree diversity was emphasised throughout the garden, encouraging us to plant a wider range of trees to support biodiversity and create resilient gardens for the future. We were proud to play a small role in supplying Platipus Tree Anchors to help stabilise those trees, ensuring the garden was safe for all who visited.

Installation paused - time for ducks to pass

During one of the hottest days of the year, 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀 proved their versatility and adaptability in challenging site conditions.

On this project, anchors were being installed by an amphibious excavator to support a retaining wall on the opposite riverbank, demonstrating how Platipus Anchors can be used in restricted-access and watercourse environments.

Work briefly paused along this peaceful stretch of river to allow four ducks to pass by, completely unfazed by the remedial works.

Project Complete: Isle of Wight Slope Stabilisation Delivered

Remediation works at St John’s Road on the Isle of Wight are now complete, with the slope successfully stabilised, creating a safe working environment for construction of the permanent retaining wall.

Following detailed assessment and a carefully staged approach to excavation and anchoring, the installation of 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀 played a key role in maintaining stability throughout construction.

This Indemnified Design provided a quick and cost-effective method to temporarily stabilise the slope, enabling works to progress safely and efficiently.

The completed works now provide long-term support to the slope, protecting the adjacent main road and surrounding residential properties from future movement.

When failed slopes threaten main roads and residential properties, thorough remediation is essential.

Following a week of heavy rainfall, this 4.5-5m high slope failed, placing both the adjacent main road and nearby residential properties at risk, and threatening public safety.

After an initial assessment, a temporary slope stabilisation solution was developed using Platipus Mechanical Anchors. This would manage stability and ensure safety during the construction of a permanent retaining wall.
