Another drainage system failed 😮

Customer reported recurring blockages and foul smells to the side of their property.

To begin the blockage was cleared and the chambers cleaned out in order to gain access. An inspection was then carried out and located two issues that were leading to this system backing up.

Repairs were made to poor benching in the manhole that was causing waste and tissue to build up and to renew a damaged collar further up the line. The ground was then reinstated and compacted and we will be returning at a later date to create a concrete path around the property. Customer now has a system they can be confident in and that is structurally sound for the future.

A nightmare for any home or business owner.

3 separate drainage contractors have called, taken a look and walked away from this job giving various reasons/excuses leaving a drainage system with a major fault and a business with storm and waste water pouring through an external wall into their property. A pump is currently in place to remove this while a suitable solution can be implemented.

We met with the landlord today to complete a full inspection of the drainage system and located a number of faults in the line including displaced joints and voids in chambers that are allowing waste water to leak into the ground below.

As requested we will be returning later this week to complete the necessary repairs.
