Not every home is suited to a traditional woodburning stove installation and that’s something we’re seeing more and more.

Modern properties without chimney stacks, extensions with limited flue routes, and renovation projects where structural alterations aren’t practical can all make conventional installations difficult. But that doesn’t mean homeowners have to miss out on the warmth and atmosphere a fireplace brings.

Bioethanol stoves offer an alternative solution for these spaces. They provide the visual focal point and character of a real fire without the need for a chimney or flue system, making them ideal for properties where traditional installations simply aren’t possible.

They run using bioethanol fuel and are powered via a standard three-pin plug, making them clean-burning, straightforward to install, and easy to incorporate into existing recesses or fireplace openings.

We're here to help customers find the right solution for their home and how they live.

Before ➡️ After

This chimney stack has been refreshed with new weather flaunching to replace the old cracked finish, along with the installation of new terracotta ventilation terminal flue vents.

Terracotta terminals are a popular choice for chimney ventilation because they’re durable, weather-resistant, and allow consistent airflow through unused flues.

They also suit the appearance of traditional properties far better than modern plastic alternatives, helping maintain the character of the chimney stack while still doing an important job.

We take every detail into consideration here at Billings Chimneys. A simple upgrade that improves both performance and appearance.

Most people think if you don’t have a chimney, you can’t have a stove.

That’s not actually the case.

If you’ve got an old fireplace, hearth, or even just a space where a fire used to be, a bioethanol stove can be a really simple way to bring it back to life, without needing a chimney or flue.

They’re ideal for homes where the chimney has been removed, as well as spaces like garden rooms, rental properties, or anywhere where a full installation just isn’t practical.

They run on bioethanol fuel (often called EKO fuel), which is easy to get online, and plug straight into a normal socket.

If you want to learn more about bioethanol stoves for your home please get in contact today.
