Last week, the Econ Engineering team attended both Cold Comfort and APSE Scotland, and what a fantastic week it was.

Both events were incredibly busy and provided a great opportunity to reconnect with existing customers, meet new faces, and have valuable conversations about the future of winter service operations.

There was strong interest throughout the week in our latest innovation, the CRC Distributor, with lots of positive discussions around how greater spreading precision can help improve efficiency, reduce salt loss, and support operators on the road.

From the exhibition stands to the networking events, it was great to spend time with so many people across the industry and showcase the latest developments from Econ Engineering.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us over the week, we look forward to continuing the conversations.

And just like that, Cold Comfort 2026 comes to a close

It’s been a fantastic two days, a great event and a brilliant opportunity to connect with so many customers, partners, and industry colleagues.

Our stand has been incredibly well received, with lots of interest in our latest innovation, the CRC Distributor, and a real buzz around the return of the Grit & Glory Awards, which is launching this November as we begin the search for the next Gritter Driver of the Year 2026/27.

And of course, no visit to the stand was complete without a coffee, a big thank you to Tom's Coffee for keeping everyone fuelled, and to our brilliant baristas Kai and Fai who kept the cups (and conversations) flowing ☕👏

Thank you to everyone who came to see us, we look forward to continuing the conversations.

A fantastic evening in Coventry to round off day one of Cold Comfort.

We were delighted to host a private dinner with a number of our customers and industry colleagues, a great opportunity to step away from the exhibition and continue some really valuable conversations in a more relaxed setting.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, it was a pleasure to spend the evening together.

We were also incredibly fortunate to be joined by the inspiring record holder, Jasmine Harrison, whose talk and video footage from her Mini Globe Solo Sailing Race were nothing short of remarkable. Her story of resilience, determination, and pushing boundaries in some of the world’s toughest conditions was truly captivating.

An unforgettable evening and the perfect way to cap off a brilliant first day.

Great to be at APSE Scotland this week and even better to be spending time with so many of our customers and industry peers.

It’s been a busy few days across both our internal and external stands, with plenty of great conversations around fleet performance, winter operations, and the challenges teams are facing on the ground.

We’ve also been showcasing our latest CRC distributor innovation on an Econ Spreader, demonstrating how greater precision and control can help improve efficiency and reduce waste in real-world operations.

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by to see us so far, if you’re still attending, come and find the team, we’d be delighted to speak with you.

A great session today in the Resilience Theatre at Cold Comfort.

Steve Sinnott delivered a powerful presentation on “The Operator at the Heart of Winter Service Delivery” and it really resonated with the audience.

The message was simple: you can have the most advanced winter vehicles and infrastructure in place, but without skilled operators behind the wheel, none of it delivers. Gritter drivers play a critical role in keeping Britain’s roads safe and moving.

It was also a great opportunity to highlight the return of the Econ Grit & Glory Awards for 2026/27, recognising the dedication and professionalism of those operators across the UK.

And even better, we were proud to have last year’s Gritter Driver of the Year, Gary Lawson, from Durham County Council in the audience today 👏

Day one at Cold Comfort and what a start it’s been.

We’ve had a fantastic day on the stand, welcoming so many familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones too. It’s been great to have real conversations about the challenges facing winter service operations, and even better to showcase how we’re helping address them.

A big thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to stop by and speak with the team, it’s what events like this are all about.

If you’re attending tomorrow, make sure to come and find us on Stand D46.
