What does it really mean to be Built in the UK?

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be exploring the people, skills, partnerships, innovation and resilience behind UK manufacturing, and the value they create for communities across the UK.

UK manufacturing does far more than build products. It creates skilled jobs, strengthens communities, supports innovation and helps keep essential public services running.

For more than five decades, we’ve been designing, engineering and manufacturing winter maintenance and highways vehicles here in the UK, supporting local authorities and contractors responsible for keeping roads safe and communities connected.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be exploring what Built in the UK | Built for the UK really means, and why UK manufacturing continues to play such an important role in delivering value far beyond the vehicles themselves.

📸 We had so many amazing photos… we just had to share a few more!

After sharing our Summer Party highlights reel on Monday, we’ve been looking back through all the fantastic photos from the day, and there were simply too many great moments to leave behind!

From the food and entertainment to the fun, laughter and plenty of smiling faces, it was a day packed full of brilliant memories.

From helping to organise the day to getting everything set up and ready, so much hard work went on behind the scenes to make sure everything was just right. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you!

And finally, the biggest thank you goes to our incredible Econ team and their families. Thank you for everything you do throughout the year and for helping to make this year’s Summer Party such a fantastic success!

What a day! 😍 Our annual Econ Staff Summer Party at Ripon RUFC was packed with sunshine, smiles, great food, music, games and plenty of fun!

Fancy a change from being in the same workshop every day?

Econ is looking for an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to join our Cardiff team, and this role offers the best of both worlds.

❄️ Winter: Get out on the road, supporting customers and keeping our specialist winter maintenance vehicles running when they’re needed most.

☀️ Summer: Based predominantly at our Cardiff workshop, helping prepare the fleet for the next winter season.

You’ll be working on modern, specialist vehicles and dealing with everything from servicing and preventative maintenance to diagnostics, repairs and breakdowns.

After another successful winter keeping Britain’s roads safe, Econ’s hire fleet has returned to our UK service centres for its essential summer maintenance.

With over 1,000 vehicles coming back from across the country, our in-house engineers are working through every vehicle, carrying out health checks, servicing and full overhauls to make sure they’re ready to roll again when winter arrives.

Last weekend was fantastic at Masham! 🚜 ☀️

Sunshine, steam engines, vintage machinery and plenty of smiling faces… what more could you ask for?

We had an amazing time at the Masham Steam Engine & Fair Organ Rally, showcasing our vintage Econ machinery and meeting so many wonderful visitors throughout the weekend.

A huge thank you to everyone who came over for a chat, shared stories with us and helped make the event so memorable. It’s always fantastic to celebrate our engineering heritage with fellow enthusiasts.

They did it! 🌊🏊‍♀️💛

A huge congratulations to Jasmine Harrison and her incredible teammates, Nathalie Pohl, Marianna dos Santos and Mariam Bin Laden, on successfully completing their English Channel relay swim.

Over the weekend together they swam an incredible 47km from Dover to France, celebrating 100 years since Gertrude Ederle’s historic Channel crossing. Battling choppy seas, cold water, jellyfish and even swimming through the night, the team showed amazing determination from start to finish.

Everyone at Econ is so proud to support Jasmine and to celebrate another incredible achievement in her remarkable adventure journey.

Congratulations to all four swimmers – what an inspiration! 💛👏
