A bit of an update from Humphreys Home Improvements
After a lot of thought, I’m now looking to take on a small number of larger projects alongside my usual work.
This includes: • Extensions
• Loft conversions
• Garage conversions
• Knock-throughs / structural alterations
I’m not looking to do lots of these — just 1–2 larger projects a year — so I can stay hands-on and make sure the work is done properly from start to finish.
I’ve spent many years working on (and fixing) other people’s building projects, and I believe I can offer clients something simple:
honest advice, good communication, and solid workmanship without the flash or fuss.

I haven't shared much on my socials for a good while now. So I thought I'd share a little photo dump of a few jobs from this year.
45m² porcelain patio with block built planter finished in k-rend.
Close boarded fence, new posts and gravel boards.
Full kitchen refit, kitchen supplied by Howdens. Work included rip out , new plumbing electrics, re-plastered, new flooring and skirting.
Bathroom remodel, removal of wall between toilet and bathroom. Re-plastered, new plumbing and electrics. Installation of new suite and skirting install.

I'll try and keep the socials a little more up to date from now on.

A small sand and cement render repair for a school in Croydon at the start of this week.

Although this job isn't 100% buttoned up. There's still a wall to render, turf to lay and a few little odds and ends to give this driveway/front garden the total wow factor. I just couldn't wait to share it with you.

This driveway went from old and tired concrete wasteland to a classy block paved paradise.

The old concrete was broken up, mucked away and sent to the crusher ready to be recycled and reused.

A soak away was created, taking the newly installed aco drainage system. Allowing the quick and effective removal of rain water that washes from the road in a heavy downpour.

Solid oak planters have been built. A new block wall (to be rendered) replaces the timber fence at the front.

A good sized area of lawn (once turf becomes available).

I will follow up with pictures once the project is fully finished.

But for now, enjoy this beautiful transformation.

I'm not a huge fan of painting but it's always a pleasure to paint your own plastering.

Just a light go over with the pad sander and pole making sure to get any snots I missed in the clean up, then it's just a case of hitting it with the 3" purdy brush and purdy roller!

Knock through, plaster and painting all carried out by myself (for another builder).

It's always nice to get asked to price more work from a returning client. It's also nice to see the job completely finished with carpet down and all it's furnishings. What makes this job even more special is this isn't just my work there is also some beautiful furniture created by the wife Carly up stuff
This has definitely been one of my favourite jobs since returning to the trade and I'm so pleased to be asked back to carry out some more work.

It's been a while since I've posted. I've been super busy on all sorts of different projects.
I'd like to thank everyone for their support after making my return to the tools. I've honestly loved the last 4 months.

My diary is now booked well into January. But don't let that stop you from getting in touch if you have a project you are looking to get done in the new year.
