HOB Mechanical Services Ltd is looking for an experienced HVAC Foreman to join our growing team.

Established in 2006, we deliver high-quality mechanical services across commercial and public sector projects, including hospitals, schools, and local authority buildings.

The Role:
You’ll lead a team of engineers on HVAC installations across a variety of sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in HVAC/mechanical services, including reading drawings etc
- Strong leadership and hands-on approach
- CSCS Skill Card (essential)
- Qualified to NVQ/BSE L3
- Good knowledge of health & safety practices
- Good communication skills
- Full driving licence

The fantastic transformation of UCL!

Following on from our previous post regarding the opening of the newly refurbished Univeristy College London, we are proud to showcase some of our finished work, and the magnificent building itself in the attached photos.

We’re very proud to have supported the transformation of UCL’s Main Quad and Wilkins Building, delivered by Neilcott Construction, as the university celebrates its 200th anniversary.

Working within a live Grade I & II listed campus in the heart of Bloomsbury, this fast-track project presented significant logistical and technical challenges, with strict deadlines and a constant need to protect the historic fabric of one of London’s most iconic academic institutions.

As part of the delivery team, HOB Mechanical Services were responsible for key mechanical upgrades that help modernise the building’s infrastructure while supporting the functionality of newly improved internal spaces. Our works focused on delivering efficient, reliable systems that will enhance the environment for students, staff and visitors, ensuring the building continues to support world-leading research and education for years to come.

Projects like this demonstrate the value of close collaboration across all stakeholders, particularly when working in complex heritage environments where precision, planning and adaptability are critical.

A huge thank you to Neilcott Construction Limited and the wider project team for the collaboration throughout. It’s been a privilege to contribute to a project that supports UCL’s next century of innovation and discovery.

We specialise in heating and mechanical ventilation systems and work in a variety of environments including hospitals, schools and public sector facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in the mechanical ventilation industry, working alongside experienced engineers while gaining practical skills and industry experience.

The Role
As a Trainee Ventilation / Ducting Engineer, you will support our highly skilled and experienced engineers with the installation, maintenance and repair of ventilation and ductwork systems across a range of commercial and public sector sites.

This role offers valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn specialist engineering skills in a supportive team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the installation of ventilation and ductwork systems
- Supporting maintenance and repair works on site
- Using tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Working alongside experienced engineers to complete projects to
a high standard
- Following all health and safety procedures on site

What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, motivated and eager to learn a skilled trade.

Requirements:
- CSCS Skill Card
- Driving licence desirable
- Ideally based in the Swale / Medway area, or able to travel
- Strong practical skills and willingness to work hands-on
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Able to carry out the physical aspects of the role, including
manual handling and working on installation projects.
- Previous experience in ventilation, construction or mechanical
work is beneficial but not essential.
- Full training and support will be provided.

💙 Walking 39 Miles to Support Cancer Research & Wisdom Hospice 💙

We’re proud to support Chris, who is taking on an incredible challenge following the recent loss of his uncle to cancer.

Chris’s uncle spent his final days being cared for by the amazing team at Wisdom Hospice in Rochester, and in his memory Chris has set himself a huge fundraising goal to support both Cancer Research UK and the hospice that provided such compassionate care.

Over two days Chris will be completing an extraordinary challenge:

⛳ Day 1 – 72 holes of golf (approximately 26 miles walked)
⛳ Day 2 – A further 36 holes (approximately 13 miles walked)

That’s 108 holes of golf and more than 39 miles walked in just two days.

We’re also incredibly proud that one of our HOB Mechanical Services engineers has volunteered to take on the Gold challenge alongside Chris, helping to raise as much money as possible for these two fantastic causes.

Cancer affects so many families, and charities like Cancer Research UK and Wisdom Hospice provide vital research, care and support when it’s needed most.

What a great start to the New Year!

We are very pleased to announce that HOB Mechanical Services Ltd has been awarded the mechanical services installation for the expansion of New Line Learning Academy / Tiger Primary School by Neilcott Construction Limited.
This exciting development includes a new 210-seat performance hall and four purpose-built music classrooms, along with associated practice rooms and support spaces.

The project will also deliver additional toilet facilities with external access from the play area, improving convenience and supervision during break times. A new shared hall will provide Tiger Primary pupils with a dedicated space for physical education and other activities.

HOB will be delivering the complete mechanical services package, including:
