In the trades, we're trained to use tools.
Nobody teaches us how to run a business.
We're taught how to plaster, bricklay, fit kitchens, wire houses, and build extensions.
But nobody teaches us pricing, margins, cash flow, sales, marketing, systems, or how to actually make money.
That's why so many good tradesmen struggle.
It's not because they can't do the work.
It's because being good on the tools and being good in business are two completely different skills.
The day I stopped thinking like a tradesman and started thinking like an operator was the day everything changed.
Tradesmen are trained to use tools. Nobody trains them to become operators.

“People laugh at mental pressure until they see what it does to someone.
Constant stress. Bullying. Betrayal. Court battles. Financial pressure. Being pushed and pushed while trying to hold yourself together.
Some people break quietly. Some lose themselves completely.
The world needs more understanding and accountability before people reach breaking point.
Real strength isn’t hurting people. Real strength is surviving pressure and still choosing to rebuild yourself instead of becoming bitter.
A lot of us are fighting battles nobody sees.”

Most tradesmen think they need more customers.

Truth is…
Most don’t need more customers.
They need better systems, better pricing, and better standards.

One well-managed £20k job can make more profit than ten stressful £2k jobs.

Busy doesn’t always mean successful.
Sometimes it just means underpriced and overwhelmed.

The goal isn’t to work harder forever.
The goal is to become the operator — not just the labour.

The tradesmen who understand this early change their whole future.

Most tradesmen don’t fail because they’re bad at the job.

They fail because nobody knows they exist.

You can be the best plasterer, builder or roofer in town…
but if someone else is posting every day while you stay silent, guess who gets remembered first?

Skill matters.

But visibility wins opportunities.

Some tradesmen brag they don’t advertise.

Meanwhile the biggest companies in the world spend millions staying visible every single year.

If you’re serious about changing your mindset and improving your business, book a call below.

Most tradesmen don’t actually have a work problem…
they have a pricing, structure, and decision-making problem.

On this call I’ll help identify:

- where you’re losing money,
- what’s holding your business back,
- and why you still feel stuck despite working hard.

Sometimes one conversation can change the direction of everything.

Stop guessing.
Start operating properly.

Most tradesmen stay stuck chasing £5k–£10k jobs thinking more jobs means more money.

It doesn’t.

What usually happens is:
➡️ more stress
➡️ more customers
➡️ more problems
➡️ more travelling
➡️ more materials
➡️ more phone calls
➡️ less profit

You end up flat out busy but still wondering where the money’s gone.

The real shift happens when you build systems, structure and confidence to target bigger work.

One well-managed £100k project with proper margins, staged payments, systems and the right client can be LESS stressful than juggling 10 smaller nightmare jobs.

That’s the difference between thinking like a tradesman…
and operating like a business owner.

Most lads don’t need more work.
They need better work.

👉 TIP:
Stop advertising “cheap quotes” and start showing professionalism.
Good clients look for confidence, systems, reviews, process and quality — not the cheapest lad with a van.

The key is to aim higher, price properly and stop racing to the bottom.

Business Tip For Tradesmen:

Stop pricing jobs based on what YOU would pay.

Price based on:
• your skill
• your overheads
• your risk
• your experience
• and the result you deliver.

Cheap customers cost the most time.
Good customers pay for peace of mind.

One well-priced job is worth more than 10 stressful cheap ones.

“This is the level I work at.
Full job completed.
Professionally cleaned.
Ready for tenants to walk straight in.
👉 And the owner?
Lives abroad in China.
Didn’t need to be here once.
Because I handle everything — start to finish.
That’s the difference.
This is why I charge for quotes.
You’re not paying for a guess…
You’re paying for experience, systems, and a job done properly.
No chasing trades.
No stress.
No mess.
👉 Just results.
Most tradesmen don’t have a work problem…
They’ve got a pricing problem.
If you want cheap — keep shopping around.
If you want it done properly — you already know.”
