Our new CEO Andy has had a busy three weeks meeting the teams in the UK, Germany and Sweden. It has been a whistlestop tour but has given him a chance to meet everyone from the leadership teams to staff on the manufacturing floor.

We caught up with Andy to get his view on Autins and the teams.

First impressions of Autins?

"The first thing that strikes you is the people who work at Autins. their passion for the business and willingness to listen to new ideas has been appreciated and sets us up well for the future. People are what makes a business and here Autins can take a lot of comfort. I was also struck by the engagement of the Swedish and German teams when I visited recently. It was very exciting hearing about new projects and developments they have in the pipeline."

What has been the biggest surprise?

"Some of the products we have in development have encouraged me. they have the potential to be real market setters in the Automotive industry and significantly improve our portfolio. there is still a way to go, but the signs are encouraging."

How do you see the future?

"As the Automotive industry comes out of its period of decline whilst dealing with unprecedented headwinds (COVID, Semi conductor supply and instability in Eastern Europe and the Middle East) Autins intends to grasp the developed opportunities creating sustainable profitable growth for years to come."

What is next?

"Continuing to get to know both our customers and the Autins team, working with our Swedish and German teams on their growth plans and ensuring we create the correct strategy to meet our future ambitions."

With the changing nature of Automotive thermal and acoustic requirements we at Autins have been working on our range of pressed fibre ducting solutions.

As material specialists we have developed a range of ducts that can be engineered to specific requirements be they thermal, acoustic or a combination of both.

Working in conjunction with your design teams we can assist with specification of materials and fibres to gain the best results. We can work to aid design and optimise routing as well as ensure the ducts have the relevant fastening and fixing points to meet packaging requirements.

If you have a requirement or would simply like some more information then please get in touch with the team.

Our CEO Gareth Kaminski-Cook steps down from his role this Friday the 19th of April. In his time at Autins Gareth has seen the business through some of the more turbulent times in Automotive.

Gareth joined the business in late 2018 right at the point where the diesel emissions issue was raising its head, this led a significant decline in consumer confidence and an impact on build volumes. Of course, shortly after that in 2020 we had the Covid pandemic, with businesses having to shut their doors and production lines halted. As we emerged from Covid the auto industry then entered a new crisis driven by semi-conductors. Through this period the business has had to adapt to a very volatile environment and it fell on Gareth’s shoulders to lead us through this period.

Constantly driven in his approach Gareth has seen the business diversify its customer base, developing a market for our Neptune material in building applications, growth in our European businesses and the development of new products that will lead the way in sustainability.

Adam Attwood Chairman of the board of Autins said “I would like to thank Gareth personally and on behalf of the Board for his dedicated service over the past five years, resulting in the start of the recovery of the business over the past 12 months. We all wish Gareth well in the future.”

Kamran Munir CFO says “The teamwork with Gareth has been exceptional, he takes a truly participative approach to working with the teams”.
We wish Gareth all the best in the future and thank him for his time at Autins.

Meet Kevin Hansen, a 26-year-old with a penchant for hard work and a passion for life. Since 2013, Kevin has been an integral part of the Autins family, where dedication and camaraderie define the work culture.

Introduced to Autins by Henrik Pettersson, the MD of Autins Sweden and former colleague of Kevin's father, Kevin's journey began as a part-time worker during his school breaks. However, his commitment and drive led him to embrace a pivotal role as a shift leader for the nightshift at just 18, despite having a year of schooling left. Determined to balance work and education,
Kevin successfully juggled his responsibilities, earning his diploma while excelling at Autins.

His tenure at Autins has been diverse, transitioning from the nightshift to the quality department as a meticulous quality inspector. With each role, Kevin's expertise and dedication shone, leading him back to production as a maintenance technician and shift leader.

What keeps Kevin thriving at Autins? It's the close-knit teams and the ethos of unity despite being spread across Europe. This familial atmosphere, coupled with the diligence and kindness of his colleagues, makes Autins feel like home.

Hailing from Trollhättan, a "lagom" sized city just north of Gothenburg, Kevin finds solace in simple pleasures outside of work. Whether it's perfecting his golf swing, hitting the weights, immersing himself in video games, or cherishing moments with loved ones.

When asked about British traditions, Kevin may not be sold on British cuisine, but he enthusiastically embraces the quintessential pub culture. With its vibrant ambiance and convivial spirit, the pub scene resonates with Kevin, adding a dash of British charm to his diverse palette of experiences.

True or false, a duck’s quack doesn't echo.

This popped into our mind recently whilst working on a new development. We will be bringing this new development to the market soon, but for now can you tell us whether you think the statement above is true or false.

And if you want to guess at our new development feel free to have a go at that also!

Our team from our DĂźsseldorf site have also been inspiring inclusion on International Women's Day.

We sat down with Sagitha to ask what working at Autins means to her.

Why did you decide working for Autins?

As a student, I wanted to gain more practical experience. Therefore, I saw the opportunity to gain my practical experiences by working for Autins because a friend who already works there recommended the company to me. I was impressed by her positive experience and was curious to be a part of this team.

What have you done before Autins?

Before working at Autins, I worked as a waitress and didn’t have any other experiences. Working for Autins has given me the opportunity to develop my skills in the area I am studying.

Would you recommend Autins to friends as an employer?

Absolutely! The atmosphere at Autins is very positive and supportive. I have had the opportunity to gain practical experience and further develop personally here. Therefore, I would definitely recommend Autins as an employer to others.

Should more women work at Autins?

We already have a good amount of women working for Autins. But I believe there is always room for improvement in promoting gender diversity.

What do you like the most about Autins?

What I like the most about Autins is the flexibility it offers, especially with the option for remote work. The ability to work from home enables a better work-life balance. Its great to have this flexibility and trust from the company.

On this we asked some of the team from our Tamworth site to tell us what International Women's Day means to them.

It was fascinating to hear some how some other countries and cultures celebrate on the 8th March.

Daniela Petrea said, "On the 8 March we celebrate both social, political, and economic achievements of women and to honour the fight against discrimination and violence that still make their presence felt in many parts of the world.

In our country International Women’s Day is associated also with Mother’s Day and is marked by offering gifts and flowers or showing appreciation through a message or a wish."

Daniela Perijoc told us the importance of both celebrating achievements and working towards a more inclusive future. She said that "The International Women’s Day is an occasion to celebrate the achievements of women worldwide and to reflect on the struggle for gender equality and women’s rights.

It’s a moment to acknowledge the remarkable contributions of women to society and to commit to working together to build a more equitable and inclusive future for all."

Madalina said it was important to recognise that "Women had and have the power to change the world for the better, with determination and gentleness at the same time , with love and beauty, but also through their gift of giving life."

She also felt special due to the worldwide celebration of Women today.
