Pair of BRM cylinder heads that came from a classic formula 1 car, these really were a labour of love. The heads had been laser welded, so once we had cleared the decks and made some time, first thing was to get the counters bores done for the new seats and put the order in for 48 trojen (both heads had been machined differently in the past also) but hey we rolled with it. Once all seats were fitted, the seats were throated, topped, and then heads ported and polished through and seats blended. Then back onto seat machine for final install height and then perfecto a pair of BRM restored back to a usable race ready condition! We are hoping to post a video of it running in due course!

Some more customer projects out the door this week! Another R53 big valve head conversion done for a turbo build, bmw 6 cylinder in for light porting work, new guides, valve seats and minimum reface, then last but not least r56 bottom end build, 77.5mm bore, block refaced, crank polished, built with new wiseco pistons, king bearings and new main bearing bolts.

Haven’t posted in a little while again. Some work recently completed to our usual high standard. Audi Quattro WR that you have seen picture of been. Some r53 big valve heads completed, and more on the shelf to be finished off. Pair of Maserati heads, ported, custom made guides, 3 angle valve seats, and refaced, Mazda mx5 bottom end rebuild, of which at the time two lots came in, one of our R53 race engines back for a refresh after customer fitted a solid front pulley and with a load of boost managed to destroy oil pump. Also another little Peugeot 1KR engine built with ported head, larger exhaust valves, forged pistons and rods, lightweight flywheel, ready to be fitted into something different.

3 PD blocks bored and honed to 80mm, 2 refaced, wash and fresh oil gallery plugs installed, 2 ported heads with customer supplied uprated valve springs, new guides and machined up. 2 cranks measured and polished, one brand new head supplied and built. Couple sump’s and engine brackets aqua blasted.

This is a prime example of why we remove oil gallery plugs from main lines. This R53 engine has been machined and built by someone else. Came to us after a dyno session… oil was dropped to find a lot of metallic particles in the oil. Once stripped it was clear this was an incredibly dirty build. Bores out of tolerance also. Not a good example of an engine build.

Two r53 big valve head ready to go out. One waiting on collection second being posted out to Australia. Both heads aqua blasted, and fitted with Supertech +2.3mm exhaust valves +1.8mm inlet valves, supertech bronze guides bullet nosed, supertech beehive springs kits with titanium retainers, ready to increase those rpm limits.

Been terrible at posting for a while now just been flat out busy since the move! Some jobs completed in the last few weeks. Brand new PD head supplied, ported and built with new valves. R56 cylinder head ported. 18 Golf head aqua blasted, ported machined up and built. R53 big valve head conversion of which we currently have another 3 to finish off, pair of rover V8 cylinder heads reconditioned and aqua blasted, arrival of our little girl on which she decided to arrive 1 month early 🫣 bit job on the YB cosworth 4x4 head, a lot of hours in that one as customer wants relatively big power. Lastly a pair of Subaru heads aqua blasted, ported, new guides and machined up, washed and built with customer supplied parts
