Special project #2

In 2018 I was commissioned to produce design and produce a couple of skidoos for an exhibition for visitors to play a simple game racing through snow on a big screen. The all aluminium design was made from a space frame with a skin. There was a wheelbase hidden inside the front and the accelerator and brake were converted to a twist grip accelerator and lever brake.

I thought I would share a project I was involved in outside of the normal Symdeck simulators.

In 2017 I was commissioned to produce some driving simulators for the UK Highways agency traffic officers to train on. They were mounted in customer fitted lorries. They consisted of triple screens. DD wheel base, load cell pedals and seat mover with a custom designed cockpit including a reach and rake adjustable wheel and even an indicator stalk!

Setup #6
This is a custom setup with an s3, s1 and TLS but all three have a console mode so the motion here is being driven only from the wheel and pedals so will work even if no game is running.

This setup consists of an s3 and a Trumotion controller for PlayStation. It's being tested on GT7.

This is a similar setup to 'Setup #1' but with a couple of differences. Firstly, it's an s3 and not an s2 so there is heave as well as pitch and roll but the crucial difference is it's using the Trumotion controller giving true telemetry driven motion. It's still on an Xbox X but this time you go over a curb and you feel it!

The full setup consists of:
s3 pitch, roll and heave platform
Symbelt self-tensioning 5 point harness
Trumotion controller
Symdeck cockpit
Symdeck speed fans
Symdeck bass shaker
Xbox X
TS-XW wheel
T-LCM peddles
50" 4K screen
5.1 speakers

This setup consists a TL, s1 and s3 giving 5 DOF motion. This customer also already has a static cockpit and wanted to add motion to it.

Setup #1

I thought I'd start sharing some of the build testing we do before shipping. This setup is an s2 and Symbelt console versions with the game running on an Xbox X. The motion is driven only by the pedals and steering wheel. Even the fans speed up as you accelerate!

The full setup consists of:
s2 pitch and roll platform
Symbelt self-tensioning 5 point harness
Symdeck cockpit
Symdeck speed fans
Symdeck bass shaker
Xbox X
TS-XW wheel
T-LCM peddles
50" 4K screen
5.1 speakers

Finally our F1 tub is here. We can offer it as a static or up to 6 DOF motion, a self tensioning harness, speed fans and a bass shaker. Various wheel, pedals and screen options are available and there's even a console version with full motion!
