For sixty years, levodopa has helped people manage Parkinson's disease.
Getting the dose right, though, has always meant a trip to a clinical lab.
A team at the University of Florence just demonstrated a non-invasive alternative, a sweat-based biosensor that tracks levodopa in real time.
The enabling step is a single 5-minute oxygen plasma treatment using the Henniker HPT-100. The same step activates the carbon sensing electrode and bonds the PDMS microfluidic layers at once.
