Lunds Family-run sheet metal specialists since 1898, delivering excellence in design, fabrication and installation. Where engineering meets craftsmanship.

Established in 1898, we believe that we are one of the oldest established sheet metal work companies in Britain today. Although we are proud of our longevity we also embrace the future and invest regularly in new technology. Our manufacturing facility in Rustington, West Sussex is spread over two buildings. We can produce sheet metalwork, steel fabrications, machined and turned items and have our own painting and finishing facility. We can also laser parts on a sub-contract basis.

Precision laser cutting, built for complexity

When your project demands tight tolerances, clean edges, and intricate detail, laser cutting at Lunds delivers.

Our advanced fibre optic laser cuts faster, cleaner, and more efficiently than traditional CO2 systems, with exceptional performance on reflective materials like aluminium, brass, and copper. And because the same machine handles both flat sheet and tubular sections, your project moves through one facility, one team, one process.

A few highlights of what we can do:
• Cut mild steel up to 25mm, stainless to 15mm, aluminium to 12mm, plus brass and copper.
• Process tube and box section up to 6 metres in length, ideal for frames, handrails, and structural metalwork.
• Deliver clean, burr-free edges that often remove the need for secondary finishing.
• Tackle intricate geometry, tight corners, small holes, and nested parts that traditional methods can't reach.

And because we're a full-service fabrication company, we can take your project all the way through folding, punching, welding, and finishing, keeping quality consistent and your supply chain simple.

If your next project needs the precision only fibre laser cutting can offer, we'd be happy to discuss your requirements. Speak to our team on 01903 784242 or visit www.lunds.co.uk.

Why helping our local community matters?

Following on from our recent announcement about our partnership with the Littlehampton & District Foodbank, we wanted to share a bit more about why this partnership means so much to us.

Our link with the Foodbank began through former Managing Director and shareholder of Lunds, Bill Lee, who introduced our current MD Shaun to the Foodbank team. From the outset, there was a shared desire to do something practical that would make a real difference locally.

At Lunds, we want to support where it genuinely matters - both for people in the wider community and for those closest to us. With the cost of essentials continuing to rise, it felt important to step in in a way that is simple, useful and sustainable.

From those early conversations, Bill has continued to play a personal role in helping move things forward, including supporting the process to secure a shipping container for the Foodbank which is now installed, helping to bring storage on-site and reduce ongoing costs.

It’s been a very hands-on effort from everyone involved, and we’re delighted to see something that started as a conversation turn into practical support that will make a lasting difference.

We’ve been doing this a long time, and it shows in the work.

Every job starts with a focus on getting it right and finishes with a product built to do its job properly. From sheet metal fabrication and precision welding to laser cutting, finishing, and assembly, we handle everything as one connected process to keep quality consistent throughout.

With decades of hands-on experience and continued investment in modern equipment, we work with customers across electronics, aerospace, transport, and scientific equipment. The goal is always the same - reliable results, made with care and attention to detail.

From first idea to final product, it’s the mix of skilled people, capable machinery, and well-managed projects that keeps customers coming back.

Speed, precision and flexibility - all in one process.

Our CNC punching service is built to handle everything from one-off prototypes to high-volume production runs with exceptional accuracy and repeatability. Using our advanced punch laser combination machine, we can produce complex sheet metal components quickly and efficiently across mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium up to 3mm thick.

With 24-hour lights-out manufacturing capability, automated tapping, and a 45-station turret for maximum versatility, we help customers reduce lead times, minimise secondary operations and keep projects moving.

From punching and cutting through to folding, welding and finishing, we deliver complete sheet metal fabrication all under one roof.

We’re delighted to be sharing some community news we’re proud to be part of…

We’ve recently entered into a community partnership with the Littlehampton & District Foodbank, working together to support people in our local area in a practical, hands-on way.

As part of this, Lunds are adding food items to our weekly shop and we’ve also set up an on-site food donation point at our HQ in Rustington, making it easier for staff, visitors, local residents and businesses to contribute.

We’ve also provided a piece of land on our site for the Foodbank to place a shipping container, allowing them to move storage on-site and ease one of their biggest ongoing costs, saving them thousands - money that can be redirected straight into helping local people.

This local business support, alongside successful grant funding, is helping the Foodbank to continue its fight against food poverty in these financially challenging times.

We’re pleased to be supporting such an important local cause and look forward to sharing more news and updates over the coming months.
