It was a pleasure to join Kilnbridge at their Safety Stand Down Day last week on the A57 project, bringing teams together to focus on what matters most – keeping people safe at work.

At Stanley, we're passionate about helping businesses create safer, healthier workplaces, so it was a great opportunity to showcase some of the innovative solutions designed to support workforce wellbeing and reduce the risk of injury.

Our Managing Director, Graham Sharp, introduced WEAR, while Andre Jutel demonstrated our exoskeleton range, giving the Kilnbridge team the opportunity to see the technology in action and try the solutions for themselves.

It was fantastic to see such positive engagement, with plenty of interesting conversations around how these solutions can make a real difference to people working in physically demanding roles.

The day rounded off with awards recognising those making a positive contribution to safety, followed by some well-earned pizza from the onsite pizza truck!

A big thank you to Kilnbridge for inviting us to be part of such a worthwhile event. It's always encouraging to see organisations taking a proactive approach to workplace safety and investing time in exploring practical ways to protect their people.

We are looking forward to being a part of The Surgeon Show in 2027 - we met some amazing people at the event this year.

Bringing together the people shaping how surgical services are planned, delivered and improved across the UK, the event already has 50 speakers confirmed!

When the job is physically demanding, the solution shouldn’t just be “work harder.

Construction teams carry, lift, bend and twist thousands of times. Over time, those repetitive movements can place significant strain on the body.

So what happens when you look at the task differently?

We recently worked with Holcim to explore how exoskeleton technology could support employees carrying out repetitive manual handling tasks.

Rather than simply putting a product on and hoping for the best, our experts looked at how the work was actually being done. Assessing movement patterns, repetitive tasks and where support could make the biggest difference.

The result? A trail and full application of the HAPO Back exoskeleton, a with a member of the Holcim team using it during demanding concrete testing and manual handling activities.

His experience was clear: reduced lower-back strain, improved lifting technique and greater comfort throughout the working day.

For us, that’s what ergonomic technology should be about.

Not technology for technology’s sake.
Not a one-size-fits-all solution.
Understanding the person, understanding the task, and finding the right solution.

Back to basics. Because expertise is built on experience.

Our Stanley team recently got together for a refresher training day, getting hands-on with the equipment and safety technology we work with every day.

From getting hands-on with exoskeleton technology, to exploring the latest developments in forklift collision avoidance, seeing how Wear can transform manual handling tasks and getting practical and putting our powered stair climbers through their paces.

For our more office-based team, it was a chance to step away from the desk and get back to the equipment — understanding how each solution works in practice, the tasks it is designed to support and the difference the right technology can make to the people using it.

Because at Stanley, it’s not simply about supplying equipment. It’s about understanding the task, identifying the challenge and finding the right solution for the people, environment and way of working.

It is great to see a variety of job roles from a huge range of industries adopting this technology here in the UK.
