The Community Hub serves as a dynamic and inviting space that not only caters to the needs of the Community but also showcases innovative design and sustainability at its core.
Nestled within the heart of the Sidley Recreation Ground the Community Hub will be a full accessible multifunctional building offering a variety of spaces to cater for the needs of the local residents and visitors, including function rooms, football changing facilities, Disabled facilities, admin office spaces and a cafe offering panoramic views over looking the park.
The proposed design was carefully developed to suit the surrounding materials, whilst creating a sympathetic yet appropriate form that the residents support. This scheme will create a vibrant, functional and durable piece of architecture. A robust, secure and sustainable design, with elements of modernism that is orientated to celebrate the surrounding area, provide noise resilience, natural surveillance and utilise natural elements.
One of the key features of the building is its curved balcony elegantly sweeping and expressing the curve of the cafe below. Using horizontal metal balustrades to emphasise the curvature of this expanse, creating a tranquil retreat for visitors.
The Hub incorporates sustainable features, equipped with a flat roof concealing an array of solar panels, air source heat pumps and car charging, as well as exceeding the Biodiversity requirements demonstrating a dedication to environmentally friendly practice.
The Community Hub provides thoughtful, modern and sustainable design creating spaces that not only serves the Community but enhances the surrounding environment and brings the recreation park together.
