Today we are proud to remember Theobald Wolf Tone, born in Dublin on this day the 20th of June 1763. Tone famously declared that the object of his life had been the independence of his nation and for that "I have sacrificed for the republic all that man holds dear; My wife, my children, my liberty and my life. He Died on the 19th of November 1798 in the Provosts Jail in the Royal Barracks, which was located in what is now the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks, Dublin. He is buried in Bodenstown Cemetery. Sallins, County Kildare, in the Republic of Ireland.
