Take me back to last summer when I had the pleasure to explore the Salisbury plains with !

Our first night of exploration saw us visit the iconic where I got this incredible sunset photograph of the landmark.

Did you know the stones were thought to be created in the late Neolithic period about 2500 BC!! Making them around 5,000 years old. This also makes them roughly 500-1000 years older than the pyramids! 😱

Each stone is roughly 25 tons (that’s about the same weight of 3.5 bull African Elephants!!)

Today marks the end of my first week with , and what a week it has been. So here’s a quick recap of the last week:

- Elephants (Loxodonta africana)
- Leopard (Panthera pardus)
- Lion (Panthera leo)
- White Rhino (Ceratotherium simum)
- Black Rhino (Diceros bicornis)
- Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus)
- Tawny Eagle (Aquila rapax)
- Wahlberg's eagle (Hieraaetus wahlbergi)
- Leopard Tortoise (Stigmochelys pardalis)
- Flap-necked Chameleon (Chamaeleo dilepis)

If you were to ask me who has the most beautiful eyelashes in the bush my first answer would be the Southern Giraffe (Giraffa giraffa).

Whilst with , my guide told me that some giraffe bulls can have up to 5 ossicones. Which is crazy!

For those that don’t know ossicones are small horn-like projections that come out of the head of a giraffe. You can use these to tell a bill from a cow! Bulls don’t have any hair on their ossicones (from fighting) whilst females do!

We had a visitor in camp! This inquisitive African Civet (Civettictis civetta) came for a quick snack of the Nyala Tree (Xanthocercis zambesiaca).

The African Civet is a solitary, cat-like carnivore that is more closely related to the mongoose than cats!
