Further groundworks completed at Elburton🏠

This job involved carrying out RIW double drain tanking to the rear of a sandwich wall, ensuring long-term protection and durability where it matters most.

The excavation was then carefully backfilled using clean stone in controlled layers, with each layer compacted thoroughly to achieve the correct stability and support against the wall structure.

We also installed 4.5m deep foul drainage using a pipe laser system to maintain precise line and level throughout the run, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance from start to finish.

Attention to detail, proper preparation, and quality workmanship are key on every project we undertake.

Hoggin path complete 👷‍♂️

Another quality project wrapped up at Kingsteignton for Tilia Homes.

This job saw the installation of a new stepped access route down a very steep embankment, designed to improve both usability and long-term safety for residents. With the challenging gradient and uneven ground conditions, careful excavation and preparation were essential to create a solid, reliable foundation.

Our team carried out precise setting out and installation, ensuring every step was level, secure, and consistent throughout. Working on such a slope came with its challenges — from access and material handling to maintaining stability — but the team delivered throughout.

To finish, we installed a hoggin path alongside the steps, providing a natural, durable surface that complements the surroundings while remaining practical in all weather conditions.

A demanding project from start to finish, but a great result that showcases teamwork, attention to detail, and pride in the job — all with some cracking views to go with it 🌿

A strong delivery on this latest RIG project, completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.

We’re proud to have worked alongside leading contractors and suppliers to bring this package together — with specialist support from JAW Hire and Tamar Landscapes Ltd all contributing to a high-quality finish across the site.

Scope of works delivered:
• Construction of 4 reinforced concrete access ramps
• Installation of 50 linear metres of hoarding
• Installation of 100 linear metres of post and rail fencing
• 1000m² of site levelling and gravel surfacing
• Installation of 250 linear metres of ducting
• 80 linear metres of kneerail
• Placement of 60m³ of concrete

Additional works included precise laser levelling of blocks to required tolerances, ensuring site offices can be installed perfectly level, installation of secure compound hoarding, and commencement of the designated car park area.

All works were completed to a strict deadline, with careful coordination across multiple trades to maintain programme and quality standards throughout.

Final elements included bespoke planter installation, and hydroseeding — delivering an excellent finish to the landscaped areas (some great photos from this stage 🌱). Many thanks to RMB Hydroseeding.

Elburton site progress 📍

A solid few days on site with good progress across Plots 4 & 5 👷‍♂️

Plots 4 & 5 have now been pinned out, with foundations dug and pins set to the correct heights ready for concrete. Concrete levels have also been marked on the footing walls, and everything has been inspected and signed off by Building Control ✅

Work has also moved forward on the retaining structure, with foundations in place, steel installed, and 32m³ of RC40 concrete poured. Blockwork has now started on the sandwich retaining wall.

To keep momentum going, 19m³ of Gen 3 concrete has also been poured into Plot 4 foundations.

Good progress all round — looking forward to pushing on with the next stage 💪

📍 Newquay – RIG Project Update

Good progress has been made on site as works continue to move forward in line with the programme.

✔️ Block foundations have been accurately laser-levelled to the required height, ensuring a precise and stable base for the installation of the site offices
✔️ Perimeter hoarding has been installed to establish a secure and clearly defined compound area, improving both site safety and organisation
✔️ Groundworks have commenced for the designated car park area, with preparation works now underway

All works have been carried out efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.

👏 Great work from the team on site delivering this progress safely and to a high standard.

🚧 Groundworks Project Update 🚧

Full drainage upgrade completed on this section, carried out to a high standard from start to finish.

Works included:
• Breaking out and excavating existing surface and failed drainage
• Installation of new underground pipework and fittings
• Formation of new channel run with correct falls to ensure effective drainage
• Installation and alignment of new gully connection
• Backfilling and consolidation to provide a solid, stable base
• Area cleaned, levelled, and fully prepared for reinstatement

All works have been set out accurately and checked to ensure proper flow and long-term performance.

Tarmac reinstatement will be completed next to bring the area back to a clean, professional finish.
