Finished outdoor kitchen 📸

Designed in collaboration with , this outdoor kitchen brings together Corten steel and powder coated elements to create a clean, durable and architectural finish.

Carefully detailed and fabricated to integrate with the wider scheme, it’s built to perform outdoors while maintaining a strong design presence.

A considered extension of the architecture, not just an addition to the garden.

Inside the workshop.

Every Corten piece starts here. From precision cutting to fabrication and welding, each stage plays a role in how the final product performs and looks on site.

Using CNC cutting technology alongside hands-on fabrication, we’re able to deliver accurate, repeatable components while maintaining the level of detail required for bespoke projects.

It is this combination of process and craftsmanship that ensures each element is built to specification and designed to last.

From raw steel to finished form.

Corten roofing brings a different approach to building design.

More than just a finish, it becomes part of the architecture itself. Defining form, adding depth, and introducing a material that evolves over time.

As a weathering steel, Corten develops a stable, protective patina when exposed to the elements. This layer not only creates its distinctive appearance, but also acts as a barrier against further corrosion, making it a durable, low-maintenance option for roofing applications.

Used correctly, it offers both performance and visual impact. A roof that does more than cover, it contributes to the overall design.

Part of the fabrication process behind this scheme, where every fixing point is carefully set out to ensure accuracy on site and long-term performance.

It’s these details, often unseen, that make the final installation work as intended.

Corten cladding and rainscreen facades offer more than just a distinctive finish.

They form part of the building’s performance, creating a protective outer layer while allowing the structure behind to breathe and manage moisture effectively.

As the material weathers, it develops a stable patina that protects the steel beneath, reducing maintenance while adding depth and character to the façade.

Beyond performance, it is a design tool. Defining form, introducing contrast and giving buildings a material identity that evolves over time.

At Cambridge Corten, we work closely with architects and contractors to ensure every panel, fixing and junction is carefully resolved.

Fantastic to see so many creative uses of Corten across the Chelsea Flower Show this year.

Mark and Lewis had a great time looking around the other gardens and seeing how the material was being used in different ways, from sculptural features and water walls to planters, edging, seating and outdoor kitchen areas.

Corten works beautifully in garden design because it brings structure without feeling too harsh. The warm patina sits naturally against planting, stone, timber and water, while still creating a strong architectural detail.

A brilliant reminder of just how versatile the material can be.

Mark and Lewis visited during the build of The Seasalt Painted Garden, designed by , ahead of the show opening to the public.

Cambridge Corten were involved in the transformation of the filing cabinets, which have been repurposed and finished for use as planters within the garden. A brilliant example of reuse, fabrication and design coming together for one of the biggest events in the horticultural calendar.

From the workshop to Chelsea, it’s great to see these pieces taking their place in the final garden.

Corten fire pits bring both structure and atmosphere to an outdoor space.

Fabricated from weathering steel, each piece is designed to perform in real conditions, developing a natural patina over time that protects the material while giving it a distinctive finish.

Beyond function, they act as a focal point. Anchoring a space, creating warmth and encouraging use throughout the year.

Available in a range of sizes or made bespoke to suit your project.

Bringing Corten into The Pond 📸

Working alongside Knox Bhavan on The Pond in Peckham, a studio for Grammy-winning producer Mura Masa, designed as more than just a place of work. A space for community, interaction and collaboration.

Currently in fabrication and on site, our role is delivering Corten elements that support the architectural intent while responding to the surrounding context. Each component is developed with precision, ensuring it performs both technically and visually within the scheme.

Inspired by the idea of creativity as a process of patience and readiness, the project creates an environment where ideas can take shape over time. As the Corten weathers, it will form a natural patina, allowing the building to settle into its setting.

A new creative hub contributing to Peckham’s evolving cultural landscape.

Where Corten works best is not just about the material itself, but how it is used.

Its performance depends on exposure, detailing and the surrounding context. When these are considered early, the material is able to weather properly, develop a consistent patina and perform long term.

Used well, it becomes part of the architecture rather than something applied to it.

At Cambridge Corten, we work through these decisions from the outset to ensure every project delivers both technically and visually.
