Same Corten, completely different finish 🔥

This is exactly what makes Corten steel so distinctive. Starting with a clean, unweathered surface, exposure to the elements gradually develops the rich orange-brown patina you see in the finished fencing.

Rather than staying static, Corten is a material that evolves with its surroundings, bringing more depth, texture and character over time.

A new Corten project is getting underway 🏗️

Work is starting at Manor Farm, where we’ll be installing a bespoke Corten steel roof as the project progresses.

There’s plenty still to come, but for now, here’s a look at the site before the Corten starts to take shape.

We’ll be following this one from fabrication through to installation, so keep an eye out for more updates from Manor Farm ⚙️

A closer look at the hands-on work happening every day in the Cambridge Corten workshop.

From grinding and finishing to welding and fabrication, every stage plays a part in turning raw steel into carefully finished, bespoke pieces ready for their final application.

It’s the work behind the finished product that you don’t always get to see ⚙️

From flat sheet to finished form ⚙️

A behind-the-scenes look at the fabrication of these bespoke decorative panels for an alternative heating installation.

Here, the panels are being carefully formed on the press brake, taking the laser-cut Corten steel from a flat sheet to the shape required for the final installation.

It’s one of those stages where precision really matters, ensuring every fold and detail comes together exactly as intended.

A little update from our Loch Leven offcuts…

The guys in the workshop have been putting some of the leftover Corten to good use, turning spare pieces into new creations rather than letting them go to waste.

It’s a great reminder of what can come from a bit of material, a bit of creativity and a workshop full of ideas.

Another update from the Levenmouth project, with a closer look at some of the Corten steel elements taking shape in our workshop before making their way to site.

Seeing the pieces in fabrication is one thing, but seeing them begin to come together in their final location really shows the scale of the project.

Corten cladding that changes the character of the building 🏡

A closer look at the Butterfield project, where bespoke Corten steel cladding has been used to create a striking architectural feature at the heart of the property.

Set against brick, timber and dark roofing, the weathered steel brings warmth and contrast to the exterior, while carefully considered panel widths, corners and window details give the elevation its distinctive finish.

And as with every Corten facade, the material will continue to evolve naturally over time.

Fencing, but made to stand out 🌿

These bespoke Corten steel fencing panels combine privacy and structure with a decorative cut-out detail that gives the design a much lighter feel.

Finished with Corten posts and base plates, every element has been fabricated to work together as one complete system, ready to develop that rich weathered finish over time.

A functional boundary with a little more character built in ⚙️

Another look at how The Pond is taking shape 🔥

We’re back with an update from The Pond, with work continuing on the Corten steel roof elements that form such a distinctive part of the project.

From fabrication in the workshop through to the details coming together on site, it’s great to see another stage of this project progressing.
