The Government’s changes to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme came into effect yesterday, bringing a significant increase in support for eligible off-gas-grid properties.

Eligible homeowners replacing an existing oil or LPG heating system may now be able to receive up to £9,000 towards an air-to-water or ground source heat pump - an increase from the previous £7,500 grant.

The £9,000 grant is a temporary uplift, currently available until 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕, making now a great time for rural homeowners to explore whether their property could qualify.

It is important to note that the increased £9,000 grant applies only to eligible properties that:

• Are not connected to the mains gas grid
• Are replacing an existing Oil or LPG heating system
• Are installing an eligible air source heat pump or ground source heat pump

For most other eligible installations, including homes replacing a mains gas boiler, the standard Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant remains at £7,500.
