Cormac is a leading civil engineering contractor providing a wide range of specialist services in Cornwall and beyond.

We maintain Cornwall’s highways, many of its cycleways and much of the natural environment so that people can travel around and enjoy the county safety. Our civil engineering projects comprise of everything from pothole and surface repairs to verge maintenance, infrastructure and civil engineering across 2,760 miles of road networks. We also complete iconic schemes to safeguard the integrity of our coastline, for example repairing sea defences and refurbishing harbour walls. More recently we have been working on improving green spaces under a pioneering scheme to bring nature-rich habitats to urban areas. We are passionate about making a meaningful and positive impact on our communities, to help contribute to sustainable economic growth and resilient, safe communities in Cornwall. And have over 100 community groups involved in various projects around the county.

A popular walking route between St Blazey and the Luxulyan Valley has been given a new lease of life with the completion of a replacement footbridge and path improvements.🚶‍♂️🌉

Working on behalf of Cornwall Council, the team helped secure this important off-road link between Par railway station and one of Cornwall's World Heritage Sites.

The old bridge had reached the end of its life, but through temporary repairs, careful planning and investment from Cornwall Council's Capital Safety Programme, access was maintained while a permanent solution was delivered.

The new footbridge and improved path surfaces provide a safer, more accessible route for walkers and help safeguard this valued community connection for years to come.

A great example of how protecting and improving Cornwall's public rights of way network keeps communities connected and enables people to enjoy our county's incredible landscapes and heritage.
