What a transformation....

A balcony that had failed and letting water in below due to it not being supported correctly at the edges and incorrect fall to the drain when the floor was re laid years ago.
The floor was stripped which revealed the original roof below which after inspection, we found the timbers to be dry and sound luckily. We built a new timber frame to give correct fall to one corner to the drain, insulated with the customers choice of insulation, boarded with 18mm osb board and plywood on the uprights. We then installed the epdm firestone rubber roof. The uprights were then covered in cladding to below the top of the rubber so no water can get in behind it. As it is a balcony, the customer had a choice of toppings so it can be walked on year round and they went for the rubber promenade tiles. These sit straight on top of the rubber which lets water drain underneath freely and also provides a nice cushioned floor to walk on. The customer then put the top tiles back on around the roof area with a secondary membrane, again to make sure no water can get where it shouldnt.

Job done and what a view.

A small dormer in sheffield. Cladding removed on the side , insulated and boarded then basecoated with mesh for strength and added an expansion joint due to future movement in the different substrates. We filled the expansion joint with a flexible filler to make it smooth with the rest of the wall and topcoated with spraycork in the colour cloud. We also patched up the gable end where a door had been removed so it's ready for the customer to paint at a later date.

A small extension we built a few weeks ago has now had the window and doors fitted so we've been back to do the internal works. We have fully insulated the floor and ceiling, boarded the ceiling and walls then oversprayed it all with spraycork. The customer wants the split block wall keeping as it is , with spraycork on it as a feature wall. The other walls and ceiling have been plaster skimmed over and are now ready for decoration.

Spraycork when used internally and skimmed over has an unlimited warranty.

CORKSOL is the ideal replacement for traditional renovation systems. Breathable, flexible, weather resistant, insulating coating for commercial and domestic buildings, to be used both internally and externally. It comes with a comprehensive 25 year guarantee when used externally.

Firestone epdm, rubber roof completed in sheffield. An old felt roof that had no upstand at the flashing, all rotten due to the felt just siliconed to the wall.

Old timber deck removed and replaced with new 18mm osb3 board and rubber. Also all the old crumbling bricks at the rear were removed and replaced with new to give it an upstand so we could get a decent flashing on it to prevent any future issues with water getting in.

The customer wanted to continue the stone wall across the bottom of his garage wall. We applied a basecoat with mesh for strength and then applied ecorend monocouche render for a through colour and carved out the shapes by hand to try to make it stone effect.

A good sized job in Rotherham that we've been on and off with. With a customer that has disabilities and a ground floor extension that had different floor levels to the rest of the house but they wanted to join the rear extension to the kitchen, we've had to raise the floor of the rear extension by 13 inches so we've also had to raise the roof by 13 inches to get the ceiling height back to 8 feet.

The floor was stripped and raised by bracing over the existing floor joists, strenthened by timber to install the new floor height at the exact level it needed to be with the living room and kitchen. We then fitted the new floor, then had a full wrap scaffold fitted. We ripped the old roof off, removed all the existing loose bricks and re built the walls to to height required. We've used the old existing roof timbers, firstly because they were in perfect condition and also to save on costs to the customer. The roof was then finished with a firestone epdm rubber roof but we had to wait to be able to finish one side due to another extension being built at a later date, to join the extension to the kitchen.

With the new extension, we've dug out the footings to below some existing waste water sewer pipes, so that no new weight will be over the pipes and risk future failure of the pipes. The concrete footings have then been poured to a height that we could install steel beams to bridge over the pipes. As the end of the building was going to be in line with the pipes we also put steel beams from the new concrete foundations, to a padstone on the existing foundations of the original extension. They were then covered in concrete to enable us to build over them. We also had to move the soil pipe over to give enough room for the extension with an over hang on the roof.

We have now built the new extension which is ready for the window and french doors to be fitted. We have again covered the roof with firestone epdm rubber cover which comes with a 20 year warranty which joins on perfectly with the other roof we raised 12 months or so ago. We just have the guttering to fit for now before rendering the external walls and plastering the internals at a later date after the window fitters have been.

What can we say about this one, a job that both the customer and ourselves thought might have extra issues after the original render has been removed. Well firstly the extension at the rear we think has been built with whatever they could find and none of the brickwork was tied together and it wasn't even tied to the actual house properly. We've had to use countless steel bars and resin to help hold it all together and fully prepared the bricks/blocks to help against future render failure before we could even think about applying new render. On the upper rear, after the render was removed we found that the bricks had no mortar left between them and they were just held together by friction. We had to remove the outer leaf brickwork until the bricks were solid and then re build it. Luckily it needed a small window bricking up any way lol. On the side we revealed an old window that had been rendered over that we've had to brick up also. There were also loose bricks scattered all around the property that have had to be removed and put back in properly. There were about 5 layers of render on this house which won't have helped with the cracking due to the weight. So now the house has more steel than mortar holding it together lol and we've also fitted expansion beads to help with future movement.

It has had a new base coat with embedded mesh and a top coat of spray cork in colour arctic white. We also rendered the brickwork below the damp course and drip bead and painted it with satin black paint.

The customer and ourselves are over the moon with how this has turned out, especially after all the unforseen issues.

Spray cork comes with a 25 year product warranty, is highly flexible, an excellent sound and thermal insulator, will look great for years to come and never need to be painted.

Any questions or would like a quote , don't hesitate to get in touch.

Another spray cork job completed now we have had a break in the weather. The customer loved the look and feel of the cork render after seeing it on another property we completed a couple of years ago. He is over the moon with the completed job and with his colour choice of Cotton and it really brightens up the rear of the property ready for him to enjoy his garden in the summer and for many more summers to come. It will finish it all off when he has laid his new Indian stone patio.

A property in sheffield that had a bad case of damp and mould in the bedroom. We replaced the side section of fascia on the outside as the timbers were rotten and possibly letting water in. We then turned to the inside, we treated the mould but ended up stripping the paint off the walls as it wasn't adhered properly to the plaster, we then applied spray cork which will help to insulate the external walls , make them feel warmer to the touch and help prevent future damp and condensation. We then used a breathable skim plaster over the top and once it has cured it will be ready for decorating in a breathable paint.

The customer is over the moon with the result and looks forward to not having to keep treating the mould over and over again.

A repeat customer near Alfreton that wanted to freshen up and brighten up the rear patio area. A smooth base coat and top coat of spray cork on the brickwork and a direct over spray of spray Cork on the stonework to match in the colour and to add extra insulation as the stonework is a single skin wall. All ready for them to sit out and enjoy the summer months to come.

A couple of patches to do for a repeat customer. They had a window removed that needed patching and blending in with the original rough cast render and a small canopy above their gate that had rotted. All rotten timbers removed and replaced, an external render carrier board fitted and rendered to blend in with the original render and a new pvc ceiling so there is no chance of it rotting again.
