Continuing with our support of (BHM) Project Hex celebrates what means to our talented Lead Imaging Systems Engineer Dominic Dedee Muzikiza:

“My name is Dominic Muzikiza, I am from a small but beautiful country in southern Africa known as Botswana. As a black African my history and my heritage are vital to me because it gives me identity and a sense of belonging. To me it gives me the strength not to quit. The strength to work extra hard. Seeing other black prominent figures succeed at the world stage gives me hope. It strengthens my pursuit for excellence. People like Martin Luther king, Nelson Mandela, Malcolm X, Thomas Sankara, to me are a definition of black excellence and my role models as well. As part of my journey towards excellence I joined project Hex, a student led aviation team project. What motivates me at project Hex is the sense of family we have as a team and the drive for perfection as well as our common passion for drones. Moreover, it at project hex where I learned and refined some of the skills I had. These include leadership, communication, programming, teamwork and many more. I know I will learn more many more”

Project Hex are an amazing team at the The University of Sheffield. Their latest innovative project is Vulcan; a two year endeavour to engineer a large with high levels of to compete in America at the AUVSI SUAS Competition. We are a student-led engineering project within the The University of Sheffield, who Design, Build and Fly advanced autonomous drones to compete in international competitions. The Simurq team have been busy planning for next weeks freshers fair in our first inperson meeting in nearly a year and a half!

Come check out our stall at the Activities Fair on Thursday the 23rd of September between 11am and 3:30pm.

Our three project teams; Project Hex, Project Volaticus and SunFalco (Falcon) will also be there showing of some exciting opportunities for students to take part in.
