Official Statement – Fonderie Sime SpA UK Operations
We have recently become aware of rumours circulating within the market regarding the future of Sime’s operations in the United Kingdom. We would like to address these directly and make our position absolutely clear.
Fonderie Sime SpA strongly refutes any suggestion that Sime is closing or withdrawing from the UK market.
On behalf of Fonderie Sime SpA, we would first like to thank our customers, partners and industry colleagues for their continued trust and support.
Sime is currently undergoing a reorganisation of its UK Representative Office, with the aim of strengthening our operations and improving the level of service we provide across the UK.
As part of the first phase of this reorganisation, we have relocated our Sheffield office and transferred our finished goods and spare parts warehousing to a specialised logistics provider. This change has been made to improve efficiency, availability and service to our customers.
At the same time, recruitment is underway to strengthen our field operations through the appointment of new sales and service agents. Our objective is to achieve broader market coverage by September, providing customers and partners with a stronger local presence and improved support.
This investment in the UK market will continue.
Before the end of the year, we are also planning an event where customers and partners will be invited to discover the new products Fonderie Sime SpA is preparing to introduce to the UK market. We look forward to sharing further details in due course and are confident that these new developments will be of significant interest to the industry.
To support and accelerate this programme, Export Sales Manager Roberto Marconi has assumed direct responsibility for the Sheffield Representative Office. Roberto will maintain a continuous presence in the UK, working alongside Area Manager Giovanni Girardelli and supporting the team operating from our new Sheffield location.
The UK market remains of strategic importance to Fonderie Sime SpA. The changes currently taking place reflect our commitment to strengthening Sime’s position in the UK through a consistent presence, improved market coverage and an operational structure aligned with the company’s future ambitions.
