About Us
We are a small, hands-on company specialising in the manufacture of bespoke staircases. Based in Sheffield, we are a straightforward, hardworking, honest and friendly team with a can-do attitude.
The Role
We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Workshop Assistant to join our team. This is a practical, hands-on role primarily based in our workshop, with opportunities to learn a skilled trade.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the manufacture of staircases (primarily bench work)
* Learning tools, techniques, and processes involved in staircase production
* Occasionally helping with deliveries
* Greeting customers who visit the workshop and taking basic details to pass on to management
* Receiving and coordinating deliveries from suppliers
* Unloading and stacking timber onto racking
Requirements
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills
* Good work ethic and reliability
* Physically fit (role involves lifting and handling timber)
* Friendly and approachable when dealing with customers
* Ability to work as part of a small team or independently
* Flexibility with working days: fixed days if preferred, or flexible days across Monday–Friday depending on workload
* Experience using hand and power tools required.
About You
This role would suit someone practical who enjoys hands-on work and is interested in learning a trade. As we are a small, close-knit company, the environment may not suit everyone — however, the benefit is hands-on, often 1-to-1 training and the opportunity to learn directly from experienced team.
Progression
This role will start at 3 days per week, with potential to increase hours and responsibilities over time for the right candidate who shows commitment and progression.
