AMT PostPro

AMT PostPro Made for companies scaling up their additive manufacturing facilities into high volume production lines.

Performance and reliability benchmark, enhancing 3D printed parts to market-ready specifications in a seamless digital workflow. AMT are the world’s first company focused on providing connected digital technology solutions for post-processing of 3D Printed polymer parts. Current post-processing methods are labour intensive, costly and time consuming. Our proven PostPro3D technology allows for the

first time 3D printed parts to be processed to a defined surface finish, quickly and consistently. Our automated solutions significantly reduce lead time and manufacturing costs. In 2017 we were awarded a grant from the UK Government's Innovation Agency, Innovate UK, to develop the next generation PostPro3D machine that will fully integrate into the digital manufacturing chain. Let us show what our technology can do by sending us a sample of your 3D Printed polymer part.

How do you take a 3D-printed musical accessory from prototype to serial production? Together with 1zu1 (part of the Prototal Group), Fliphead did exactly that with their flute mouthpiece.

They developed a 3D-printed mouthpiece that allows flutists to play their c-flute vertically, with the more relaxed posture of a saxophone and the tonal character of an Irish low flute.

Early LCD-printed prototypes presented challenges around consistency, scalability and surface texture. Switching to EOS SLS printing with PA2200 enabled repeatable production, while PostPro v***r smoothing created the smooth, sealed surface required for optimal sound quality and hygiene standards.

Surface finish is about more than appearance. In production, it can affect everything from cleanability to long-term part performance.

V***r smoothing creates a smooth, sealed surface on polymer 3D-printed parts that can:
• Reduce moisture and dirt ingress
• Improve cleanability
• Increase fatigue resistance
• Deliver a consistent, repeatable surface finish

Whether you are manufacturing medical devices, industrial components, consumer products, or UAVs, these characteristics can help meet the requirements of end-use applications.

These drones, manufactured using EOS SLS technology with materials including PA 603-CF and PA 2200, are a great example of how additive manufacturing enables lightweight, complex designs that would be difficult to produce using conventional methods.

The drone was v***r smoothed by Avid Product Development using the PostPro SF100, creating a smooth, sealed surface that is more resistant to environmental exposure, easier to clean, and better suited for long-term use. The process also helps improve fatigue resistance, supporting more durable, production-ready parts.

Many thanks to the team at Avid Product Development for showcasing their work and allowing us to film on site.

What happens when AM moves from producing a few hundred thousands of parts to millions?

Kason Knight from i-SOLIDS shares how their production has grown rapidly as more customers adopt additive manufacturing for end-use applications. As parts transition from prototyping into production, surface quality and functional performance become more important.

For i-SOLIDS, investing in automated v***r smoothing helped address challenges like surface absorption and watertightness, supporting applications where these characteristics are essential.

It’s a great example of how post-processing becomes an integral part of scaling additive manufacturing for production.

Thank you to the i-SOLIDS team for welcoming us on site and sharing your experience.

What turns a prosthesis from a functional device into something patients want to wear every day?

For Point Designs, it starts with personalization, comfort and designing prostheses that fit both the patient and their lifestyle.

Using HP Multi Jet Fusion and PostPro v***r smoothing, they produce customized partial hand prostheses with smooth, sealed surfaces that are easier to clean and maintain, while enhancing surface quality and color vibrancy. The result is a patient-ready device that combines function with comfort.

Discover how v***r smoothing supports the production of these customized prostheses in our latest case study.

Last week, our Territory Account Manager Joe Redmond attended Automate in Chicago.

He got to catch up with our partner M5D, visit EOS and connect with Forerunner 3D, who are using our v***r smoothing system as part of their workflow.

What difference does v***r smoothing make?

This drone, printed on an EOS platform using PA 603-CF and v***r smoothed by Avid Product Development using the PostPro SF100, shows the transformation from a raw printed surface to a smooth, sealed, production-ready component.

For applications such as UAVs, surface quality is about more than appearance. Sealed surfaces can improve cleanability, reduce dirt and moisture ingress, and help create stronger, durable parts ready for real-world operating environments.

Dan DaFonseca from the Atlantic Clinic for Upper Limb Prosthetics demonstrates how additive manufacturing makes it possible to create customized prosthetic devices tailored to specific activities and lifestyles.

The combination of HP 3D Printing and PostPro v***r smoothing helps deliver prosthetics that are not only personalized, but also comfortable to wear, easy to clean, and suitable for everyday use.

Surface quality plays an important role, particularly for devices that are worn for extended periods and interact directly with skin and clothing. This is another great example of how combined 3D printing and post-processing improve both functionality and patient experience.

At RAPID + TCT Event, we spoke with Marco from HP 3D Printing about their new MJF 1200 3D printer, as well as the role automated depowdering and v***r smoothing play in helping users move from printed parts to production-ready components.

With HP bringing industrial MJF capabilities into a more compact format, the combination of MJF printing and PostPro SFX/PostPro SF2X v***r smoothing creates a complete workflow from printing through finishing, helping users produce production-ready parts with minimal manual intervention.

PA 950 HD from EOS is often selected for demanding functional applications where durability and long-term performance matter. Until recently, achieving a high-quality surface finish on these parts typically meant additional manual post-processing.

Our customers are using PostPro v***r smoothing to finish their PA 950 HD parts, transforming rough printed surfaces into smooth, production-ready components while maintaining the material's performance characteristics.
