Operational facilities rarely pause for improvement works.
Projects often need to be carefully phased and coordinated around ongoing activities, building users, access requirements, and operational constraints.
Our work at Network Rail’s Watford Depot involved the refurbishment and reconfiguration of an occupied operational building to create a new self-contained training environment.
The project included:
• Creation of four new training classrooms
• M&E upgrades and lighting improvements
• Internal reconfiguration and refurbishment works
• Phased delivery within a partially occupied building
• Careful coordination to minimise disruption to depot activities and building users
What made this project particularly important was not simply the physical work itself, but the environment in which it was delivered.
That required more than technical delivery alone.
It demanded planning, communication, flexibility, and disciplined site management throughout every stage of the project.
Another strong operational delivery by the team.
