An incredible opportunity is available for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work with this award-winning steel structures contractor. Working across design, manufacture and install, this specialist sub-contractor puts passion and professionalism above all else. This position is mainly office based and as a Quantity Surveyor you will be involved in all commercial aspects on a wide variety of projects. You will be expected to travel throughout the UK to attend meetings where necessary to ensure project final accounts are resolved.
Your role will involve:
• Manage and monitor projects through all stages from contract launch to Final Account.
• As commercial lead on projects you will interact with drawing office, fabrication management and project managers to deliver projects successfully and within budgets
• Interpret and explain key requirements of individual contracts other departments
• Negotiate with and compile subcontract documentation for key subcontractors
• Identify and measure change and ensure additional costs are recovered
• Ensure relevant contractual notices are raised in accordance with subcontract terms
• Submit monthly applications, activity schedules and vesting agreements
• Track payments due to ensure cash flow is managed within the business
• Settle final accounts with both Clients and subcontractors
• Produce monthly contract cost forecasts
• Provide feedback on subcontract performance to other departments
Desired technical skills will include:
• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong communication, negotiation and IT skills.
• Thorough understanding of NEC, JCT contract conditions
• The ability integrate within a multi discipline team
• Technical knowledge relevant to the industry. Previous experience within the architectural/structural steelwork sector is essential.
