When building new homes, we like to furnish and style them so potential buyers can truly picture themselves living there. We always use full-sized furniture—no tricks—so the space feels just as it would in everyday life. One thing we tend to leave out, though, is a TV. The sockets and aerial points are all there, but we find a blank screen doesn’t quite add to the luxury feel when you’re imagining your next move.

W A T E R C O L O U R

Back in 2021, we planned to build two houses just outside Stratford-upon-Avon on the edge of a new estate. When we faced objections from the planning officer, our architect suggested an indicative sketch to illustrate the scheme. Instead of a precise CGI, we commissioned a local artist to create this beautiful watercolour.

Ultimately, permission wasn’t granted, but we still have this painting—a reminder of the battle and the vision we had for the site.

This gave buyers a clear vision of their future homes, allowing them to purchase with confidence—before construction even began!
