Progress is moving well on our Victorian cottage renovation in Slinfold, with the strip out and preparation work now completed, ready for the next major stage of the build.

Over the last week, we have removed all of the old plumbing and wiring throughout the ground floor, stripped out the existing kitchen and taken down the original lath and plaster ceilings. We have also checked and confirmed all measurements ahead of the new floor levels and upcoming kitchen installation.

A temporary partition wall has been built to keep dust and disruption away from the main living areas while work continues, and the property is now fully acro propped ready for the structural knock through.

Once complete, this renovation will completely transform how the ground floor works day to day, creating a far better connection between the kitchen and dining areas while bringing the whole property up to a much higher standard throughout.

Managing every stage in house allows us to keep quality consistent, maintain proper scheduling and give the client one clear point of contact from start to finish.

A full downstairs renovation is now underway at this Victorian cottage in Slinfold.

This project involves far more than fitting a new kitchen. We are completely reworking the ground floor to improve layout, flow and day to day living while bringing the property up to a high modern standard.

One of the key parts of the build is a structural knock through, which will completely open up the existing layout and create a far better connection between the kitchen and dining areas. Alongside that, we will be carrying out full floor levelling as the original cottage currently sits at different heights between rooms.

The project also includes installation of a new downstairs WC and cloakroom beneath the stairs, full rewiring, redoing the plumbing and radiators, replacement windows and doors, new ceilings, plastering, tiling, flooring and decorating throughout.

A completely new kitchen will then tie the whole space together.

Every trade is being managed in house by us, with most of the work carried out directly by myself and Stoicho. That hands on approach keeps quality consistent throughout the build and gives the client one clear point of contact from start to finish.

This is the first update from site with plenty more to follow as the transformation takes shape.

Last December we installed a new roof structure with Velux windows on the building attached to this 400 year old oak barn.

Once complete, the client asked us back to carry out internal structural work. We removed rotten oak timber and resolved a long standing issue where original rafters and the wall plate ran through the middle of the room, restricting head height and limiting use of the space.

Working alongside a local structural engineer and our trusted steel fabricator, we designed and delivered a solution which opened up the room and made it fully usable for the family. A complex project with plenty of unknowns given the age of the building, but the result speaks for itself.

We are now supporting the design of a high end family bathroom within the new space, with works planned for later in the summer.

In this case, the customer wanted a pond built into their garden as part of the wider work. We planned it properly, installed full filtration and completed all groundwork to make sure it performs as well as it looks.

A returning client of over 20 years asked us to adapt their garden after adding a new puppy to their family. 🐶

We originally installed the block paving patio, and this phase focused on creating a bespoke garden fence to separate the working area with chickens and greenhouse from the main garden for Ivy.

We carefully lifted sections of the existing block paving, installed new fence posts and panels, then reinstated the paving to keep everything consistent and tidy.

The laser cut steel panels bring a clean finish and are designed to form a controlled surface rust, giving long term durability with a distinct look.
