🚨 MOMENTS AWAY FROM A DESTROYED ENGINE! 🚨
We’ve been incredibly busy lately, and we honestly can’t thank our amazing customers enough! 🙏
Last week, we got a call out to this BMW. It was stuck in limp mode and thick smoke was pouring out of the exhaust. We advised the customer to shut it down immediately so we could rush out and assess the damage safely.
The Verdict? Catastrophic turbo failure. 💥
Oil was flooding both the engine and the DPF.
Why did it fail so badly?
It all came down to poor oil quality. The dirty oil completely blocked the feed and return lines, starving the turbo of lubrication. The extreme heat inside caused the impeller to literally snap off!
The Fix:
✅ Brand new turbocharger
✅ New intercooler (the old one was completely filled with oil)
✅ Fresh oil flush and change using premium, BMW-approved oil & filters
✅ Deep cleaned the oil feed and return lines
This car was seconds away from an engine “runaway” (where the engine runs uncontrollably on its own oil until it explodes). Thanks to quick thinking and expert diagnostics, we saved this customer from a catastrophic repair bill and weeks off the road.

This Audi A1 1.6TDI was suffering from a misfire and was recovered back home where we carried out a diagnostic into the issue. We had found that cylinder 2 had suffered from a faulty fuel injector. It was also noted that there was a lot of smoke coming out from the exhaust which was due to the copper washers on the injectors blowing by.

We gave the customer a few options in terms of repair levels which were different cost options from a single injector repair (in our experience would be a short term fix) up to a full fuel injector replacement with new rocker cover. We explained to the customer the pros and cons of each level of repair to help understand which route was best to go down for their car.

The repair carried out was the last option which was a complete set of injectors (if one has gone the rest will naturally fail soon) which comes with our two year warranty as standard. Whilst replacing the injectors we also replaced the rocker cover, this was for a few reasons. One was due to the rocker cover seals leaking and two was we know that these pcv systems fail around this mileage especially when having a lot of extra exhaust gasses passing through.

Earlier this week we were called out to investigate a very Smokey VW Sharan - We carried out our checks and identified that the injectors were the cause of the issue, more so the copper seals had failed which lead to exhaust gasses were escaping into the rocker cover and pressuring out of the PCV system.

We also advised that the rocker cover needed to be replaced due to the seals leaking and the PCV being compromised from the excessive pressure passing through.

All injectors were stripped and cleaned with new seals fitted, new rocker cover fitted and new stretch bolts fitted, we finished the job off with and oil flush and filter change with Low Saps oil due to the oil being heavily contaminated.

No more smoking sharan and a much smoother running car.

We recently worked on a Peugeot Expert with an over boost fault issue that was diagnosed during a previous visit. The root cause was excessive soot buildup, which had stuck the VNT vanes in the turbocharger, preventing proper boost control and triggering limp mode. The customer chose to replace the turbo with a new Garrett unit, which we fitted and tested. Given the labor involved in cleaning the turbo, replacing it made more sense. We always present our customers with options and explain the pros and cons, enabling them to make informed decisions based on their budget.

Sunday call outs - This weekend, we received a call from a customer whose car had broken down due to an alternator issue. Given the car's recent release, the alternator was a main dealer only option, but we successfully sourced the part from the supplier. Our team fitted the new alternator and performed extensive checks to guarantee the vehicle's proper functioning. The investigation revealed that a faulty clutch on the alternator caused the breakdown, leading to intermittent engagement.

🔧 2025 Audi A3 - this customer made the most of our mobile service after calling up the main dealer to book in for a routine service (required to maintain the vehicles warranty) they were told it would be a 5 week wait and at extortionate cost as-well.

The customer gave us a call after seeing that we offer the same services at a much more affordable rate and better still we come to their house or place of work.

- First oil change carried out with manufacturer approved parts to maintain warranty

- All fluids checked and topped up

- Engine bay cleaned down after the service

- Digital Service Record updated on the Audi network exactly the same as the dealer does.

- VHC Video carried out showing tyres, brakes and suspension- just like the dealer does.
